  • He Apex Court Will Be Looking Into Pillow Covers and Bed Sheets. What Is Happening?” Asked Justice A.K
Cover Story MURDERS ATHOME Murder has a terrible new face, new motive and a new address.Across urban India, seemingly normal people kill their closest relatives in the name of love, sex or jealousy. By Damayanti Datta he apex court will be looking into pillow covers and bed sheets. What is happening?” asked Justice A.K. Ganguly, on January 6, while hearing an appeal from Arushi’s parents, Rajesh and Nupur Talwar. He refused to examine bed linen, a piece of evidence Tin the murder of the teenager at the Talwars’ Noida home in May 2008. His verdict was clear: the Arushi Talwar murder trial would begin on February 4 at a Ghaziabad court. The Talwars, who had been using the legal process to delay trial, had finally run out of options. Accused of killing their teenage daughter and the domestic help, they now face criminal proceedings to prove their innocence beyond all doubt. A lot more than bloodstained linen will now be under judicial scrutiny. Across urban India, bedrooms have become dangerous are- nas, of war, not love. The enemy is within, waiting to strike. In Bangalore, Kumar, a 27-year-old garment worker, hit his preg- nant wife in a fit of anger for demanding new clothes on New Year. The blow killed her on January 4. • The Trend of Violence on the Indian Screen & Its Influence on Children
The Trend of Violence on the Indian Screen & its Influence on Children by Kanti Kumar September 1999 Is violence shown on TV the main reason for the increase in violence by children, teenagers and society in general? I was awarded the K. K. Birla Foundation Fellowship for Journalists in October 1998 to study and write on this topic. This report is the result of the study that I carried out over 12 months during 1998-99. Acknowledgement This study would not have been possible without the significant support that the K. K. • Prospectus 2016-2017
Prospectus 2016-2017 Affiliated to GGSIP University, New Delhi Approved by Bar Council of India LAW BBA JOURNALISM Shri Vipin Sahni Chairman Delhi Metropolitan Education From the Chairman's Desk e rst few years are the baby years. Now, as we enter our fth year, yet second at this new campus, we are excited about what the students, their parents and guardians and we, are going to share throughout the year. Since we are a professional college, we remain focused on leading our young adults along the pathway that will assemble them into professionals; ready to make their mark in the world. We are constantly inspired by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagores lines, Where the mind is led forward ese lines were written during our countrys struggle for independence and was a heartfelt cry to Indians to believe in God and in themselves, in other words, freedom. Hearing the lines recited gave boldness and fearlessness to young Indians to bravely challenge the rule and domination of the British over us. Similarly, today we have many inuences, many not so good ones, on our young adults. Let the minds of all DMEians be led forward on the path of honesty, compassion towards all, loyalty to the institution and family, and above all, to the cause of an energetic and vibrant India; of which all our DMEians will become proud young citizens. I welcome you on behalf of the faculty and management to a fullling 2016-17 academic session. A Chartered Accountant and Financial Advisor of repute by profession, Mr. Sahni has taken upon himself the mantle of an educationist to bring change in society by quality education in schools & colleges.
