Bentons Place is a historic country house with origins in the eleventh century and probably earlier. It has a double L shape with a timber frame, red brick exterior and slab roof. The house has an abundance of character with its diamond- shaped casement windows and large inglenook fireplaces. An extension has been added to the east wing of the house which has allowed the kitchen breakfast room to be opened up to enjoy views overlooking one of the lakes. There is also a collection of adjoining buildings, which have been connected to the main house to increase the overall entertaining space. Presently, there is a heated swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, tennis court, gym and snooker/games room.

To the north of the main house, an annexe and cottage provide further living accommodation whilst there are numerous places for al fresco dining dotted around the property including the terrace overlooking the smaller of the two lakes.

Gardens and Grounds

The entire property sits in 54 acres and is entered via a long private driveway. There is a mixture of formal gardens (including a walled garden), two lakes and several smaller ponds and large open fields, which currently serve a small herd of cattle. A collection of agriculture/equestrian barns lies to the west of the property which could be converted (subject to planning) into further accommodation or extended equestrian use. Planning consent already exists for stabling close to the walled garden. Bentons Place has no close neighbours and sits in a tranquil part of the South of . The property overall would benefit from some modernisation but has immense potential with its number of footings, existing planning consents and large amount of land.
