Lackawanna College and Scranton Tomorrow join together to 'Rally for Restaurants' This brings the community and organizations together to support local restaurants that are struggling due to the pandemic. The ’s student-run restaurant, 409 on Adams’ has opened its doors to participating restaurants, allowing the use of its talented student chefs, kitchens, and outdoor event space free of charge. The funds go directly to the restaurant to help offset funds lost.

Keystone College honors high schoolers in Early Childhood Apprenticeship Program The students were honored for completing ’s Early Childhood Apprenticeship Program. They now have 12 college credits each and a national childcare development certificate. That makes them a certified childcare professional, before graduating high school.

Gannon University homecoming celebrations virtual this year Gannon University is hosting some of their biggest traditions such as gathering at the Plymouth and family mass with their Golden Knight community through live streams.

Seton Hill gets $1.7 million federal grant for students in need The money will fund the university’s TRIO Student Support Services program for the next five years. The program helps students who come from low-income families, are first- generation college students or have disabilities. There currently are 170 students who benefit from the program. These students are each paired with an academic coach who can help guide them through their time in college, said Connie Kugel, director of TRIO Student Support Services.

Cabrini Students Prepare To Diversify PA's Teacher Workforce Twenty-five Cabrini School of Education students will receive financial support and mentorship this fall thanks to $53,166 in funding from the Aspiring to Educate (A2E) program, a Cabrini partnership with the School District of Philadelphia and Department of Education that aims to diversify the professional teacher workforce in the state.

University of the Arts Presents Ride the Cyclone The University of the Arts will present Ride the Cyclone, with Book and Music by Brooke Maxwell and Jacob Richmond, and directed by Elana Mirella Mariani, as part of the Ira Brind School of Theater Arts Fall 2020 remote season. The project will be available for viewing via Broadway on Demand's ShowStream service November 6 through November 15, 2020.

Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine students plan virtual health fair While not a typical health fair format, this will still be a fun, free way to learn about health, wellness and the resources that are available in the community. Wistar Institute lab tech and immigrant on frontline developing COVID-19 vaccine Inside a laboratory at the prestigious Wistar Institute in Philadelphia, Yaya Dia, an immigrant from West Africa, is working tirelessly to create a vaccination for COVID-19. "It's a privilege working with the top scientists at the Weiner laboratory and especially being there and being able to contribute," said 29-year-old Dia.
