Dear Scouters,

This will be our last message as a Key 3 because as of March 10, we will have a new slate of officers for the Council. We wanted to take the time to thank ALL of the leaders of the Northeast Iowa Council for YOUR tireless support in making sure that YOUR Scouts have an excellent program. Because of YOU, we rank in the top ten of all Councils in the because of YOUR commitment to the Journey to Excellence. We grew in membership in 2011 and that is because of YOUR commitment in asking every available youth to join our program and ensure that they are retained because of a quality program in YOUR unit.

CAMP HIGHLIGHTS

One of the benefits of being a teacher is the time I spend during hallway supervision watching students walk to their classes, and Scouts that I've seen over the summer stop by to ask about camp. As winter winds down, the excitement over camp increases exponentially (I would argue that the excitement has been up all year). Working closely with my program director, John Sewell, and beginning to fill positions, I'm getting to meet some fantastic people that I can't wait to introduce to Scouts, Scouters, and their families during the 2012 season. As always, we are striving to make the next summer camp season the best it has ever been. We're bringing fresh ideas to the trading post, we have 25 new tents, we are offering new programs, and we are doing it with brimming enthusiasm.

By the way, Camp C.S. Klaus is on Facebook. If you haven't been there already, be sure to check out our page and be sure to "like" us for updates on the upcoming season, pictures from past seasons, and more. Of course, tell your friends and help us get the word out. You help make Camp C.S. Klaus great! Also, if you have any questions regarding your summer camp experience, please contact me at [email protected] or (563)542-9892. PAY EARLY AND SAVE $$.

Remember the Early Bird camp fees for Cub Scouts are due by April 20, 2012. Boy Scout Early Bird camp fees are due by April 30, 2012.
