THE DICK DOUBLE ROUTE MAP V1.0

The DIck Double is a fell race and you may choose your 3 own route. The only thing you must do is run to each Trig at Moor (Rombald’s Moor) and Moor.

You must start and finish at the Dick Hudsons Pub Otley Rd, BD16 3BA 2 !

Otley Road is narrow and drivers around here tend to drive fast, stay alert on the road, consider bright colours and stay on the correct side.

If you do the Ilkley Section first you may start at the gate to avoid crossing the busy road. and finish in Dick Hudsons Car Park.

If you do the Baildon Section first you may start on the Main road and may finish at the gate opposite.

8 GPX FILE The GPX File provided as only a guide and we traversed 1 two options each for variety. You may deviate from the route as much as you like in order to reach your goal.

ROUTE DESCRIPTION VERSION 1.0

FOR THE SAKE OF THIS ROUTE DESCRIPTION WE ARE GOING TO HEAD TO FIRST. 1. Leave the car park through the small gap in the wall and cross the ROAD (Careful). A Gate to the footpath leads up towards Rombald’s Moor (Ilkley Moor).

2. Here you can either turn left before the gate and head straight up following the wall, or go through the gate and continue on the footpath.

3. This route is longer but considerably easier ground to cover

5. Warning! This field is full of COWS.

6. Once on the main section Baildon Hill there are many little options on paths, some less obvious that others.

7. This is a slightly longer but gentler route up/down

8. Only use this route on this trip to your second Trig pillar, as it doesn’t lead to the finish.

This route description is only to be used a guide and alongside the route map.

Remember you can run the route as many times as you like so consider recceing the route before going out for your best time, and as always, enjoy!

The Moors can be dangerous, even in summer. Please ensure you take necessary gear and sufficient clothing.

Recommended Gear Suitable Footwear, Water proof jacket or full body cover, suitable layers for the weather taking into consideration that the weather can change at any time. PAPER copy of MAP, Compass, fully charged mobile phone.

If you are not confident running on the fells consider running in a pair or small group and / or tell people where you are. You are ultimately responsible for your own safety out on the fells.
