I. Extent of Damage and Relief:-

Kamrup (Metro) & Cachar) • 1, 50,000 (approx.) Nos. of population affected. • Rifles, Army, & NGOs were deployed for Search & Rescue Operations • No fresh report of landslides across the State. • There was serious landslide in Cachar, Dima-Hasao & Meghalaya border on 25/26th June 2012 affecting rail traffic to , , Mizoram and Tripura. • The Govt. Departments viz. PWD (R), PHE, etc. are engaged for restoration of road communications and other essential services.

II. Damage to Infrastructure:-

1. Washout / breaches of : 42 breaches in embankments involving Embankments / bunds River Brahmaputra and 14 other Tributaries in 14 Districts have been reported till date. Barak Valley: 1 breach is reported in River Longai in District. Palliative Measures taken and being taken : Launching of bamboo structures, porcupines, strengthening by earth filled cement bags etc. 2. Roads • No. of Roads affected/damaged/over topped : 2948 • Breaches at 1881 points of 79.07 Km length. 3. Bridges • 12 Nos. of SPT bridges & 12 Nos. of culvert washed away. • SPT: 269 SPT bridges damaged • Approach to 307 SPT bridges damaged. • RCC: 2 RCC bridge collapsed. • Approach to 277 RCC bridges damaged. • 372 Culverts damaged Restoration cost: under assessment 4. Train Connectivity • The rail track has been extensively damaged by landslides in Lumding–Badarpur Railway Division affecting passenger and essential commodity movement, which is yet to be restored. • Harangajao to Badarpur section has been restored.

III. Rescue & Relief Operations:

Deployed in 13 Districts viz., Barpeta, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Dima-Hasao, (), Kamrup, Kamrup (Metro), N. Lakhimpur, , Nalbari, Sibsagar , Sonitpur and . • 7 Teams of Army Deployed in Barpeta, Dhemaji, Dima- Hasao, Sibsagar, Sonitpur and Tinsukia Districts • 18 teams of SDRF have also been placed in various districts. • Air force is extending necessary help.

State Government is taking steps to pay ex-gratia of Rs.1.50 Lakh to the next of kin of each deceased person. PMO has announced ex-gratia payment of Rs.1.00 Lakh. Hon’ble CM has also announced Rs.1.00 Lakh to the next of kin of the deceased person from CM’s Relief Fund.
