2016 MONTICELLO

VINEYARD NOTES Honah Lee was planted in 1998 and Adventure Farm was planted in 2005. They are located 40 minutes apart in the Monticello AVA. Honah Lee is planted on 100% Tannat Davidson Clay soil with southeastern exposure. At 850 feet elevation Adventure Farm is planted on light loam soil with a moderate slope and southern exposure. The AVA tannat at both is grown on a modified ballerina trellis system that allows us Monticello to work with these naturally vigorous sites. Both vineyards were cropped at 4 tons per acre. The 2016 was an above average growing season with moderate rainfall and very warm and dry conditions late in the season.
