ROYAL ULSTER WINTER FAIR 3 Message from RUAS President
We extend a very warm welcome to the 2017 Winter Fair, at the Eikon Exhibiꢀon Centre, Balmoral Park.
This year’s event will be bigger and beꢁer than ever, with trade stands at full capacity and a superb entry of quality caꢁle. Dairy producꢀon has been more proꢂtable this year which hopefully will be conꢀnued through to 2018.
Minds will be very much focused on the difficult autumn this year with a potenꢀal shortage of fodder; at the Winter Fair you will be able to learn how best to cope with the situaꢀon and avoid a crisis in the spring of 2018.
There are many other issues affecꢀng the industry, not least the T.B. situaꢀon in Northern Ireland, hopefully we will have the opportunity to talk about this and other areas of concern.
It is the ꢀme of year when we can all enjoy a day away from our business and prepare for the fesꢀve season.

ALISTAIR Sampson and the Volac technical team have a calf rearing display on their Winter Fair stand offering you less work, beꢂer reared calves and more margin. Both Forster Technik and Urban computerised calf feeders will be demonstrated. Machines that know exactly how much each calf drinks and when, with an early warning system in place to stop that off colour calf becoming a sick, stunted calf.
