Introduction Taxonomic accounts

The non-biting midge family Chironomidae is the most Order Diptera 파리목 abundant group of in freshwaters. Spaniotoma (Smittia) recta Edwards, 1929: 362 [TS: ♂, ♀; The adults were collected by sweeping net and light trap. TL: Crowborough, Great Britain]. They were preserved in 80% ethanol. Some specimens were Pseudosmittia kurobeokasia Sasa and Okazawa, 1992a: 57 slide-mounted by Hoyer’s solution and Euparal to observe [TS: ♂; TL: Toyama, Japan]; Yamamoto 2004: 89. male hypopygium and other micro-characters under the Pseudosmittia togarisea Sasa and Okazawa, 1992b: 160 [TS: microscope (400×).
