CENTRAL CATTLE BREEDING FARM - DHAMROD India has the largest Cattle and Buffalo population in the world. Considerable importance was given to the Livestock Development Programme for increasing the production of major products such as milk, meat, wool & eggs etc. to increase the income of the economically weaker sections of the community i.e. small farmers, marginal farmers and Agricultural Labourers. One of them in the field of Animal Husbandry is Cattle Breeding. Keeping in view of the Animal Breeding, seven Cattle Breeding Farms were established throughout India for propagation of recognized Cattle and Buffalo Breeds. Amongst these seven Central Cattle Breeding Farms one of them is the Central Cattle Breeding Farm, Dhamrod District Surat, (Gujarat) meant for maintenance / propagation and distribution of Pure bred Surti Buffalo Bull calves.
