M Health Fairview CPE Within the M Health Fairview health system, there are two separate CPE centers: M Health Fairview University of Medical Center (UMMC) CPE Center, and the M Health Fairview Southdale CPE Center. When applying for a residency position, please indicate which CPE center you are interested in, or both.

Proposed Resident Year 2020-2021

Dates: August 24, 2020 – August 31, 2021 (3 Unit CPE Program)

Pre-requisite: Minimum of one accredited unit of CPE strongly preferred

Compensation: 1. $36,252 (for the 53 week period) plus on call pay for evenings and weekends: $6.00 per hour and time back when in hospital 2. Options from Fairview benefit plan: health, dental insurance, group term life 3. Designated Time off: 24 days (vacation, holidays, sick days) 4. Housing allowance available for qualified residents Deposit: $250 if you are accepted to hold a position (non-refundable) Tuition: 1st unit: $500 due by Sept 1, 2020 2nd unit: $300 3rd unit: $300

First Unit: August – November 2020 Theme: Spiritual Assessment and Pastoral Care

Integrative period/Clinical coverage

Second Unit: January – March 2021 Theme: Family Systems and Narrative Theory

Integrative period/Clinical coverage

Third Unit: May – end of July 2021 Theme: Leadership and Pastoral Skills

Integrative period/Clinical coverage continues through August 31, 2021

Application Process:

We recognize that a year is a long time to commit to a training program and some of our applicants must move in order to attend. Therefore we take our application process seriously. Below are the steps to apply and interview for either of our two CPE Residency programs.

1. Completion of the ACPE Application from our accrediting body, the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education. 2. Submission of completed ACPE Application and any previous CPE Evaluations sent either: i. Via email: [email protected] OR ii. By mail: M Health Fairview CPE 2450 Riverside Ave. Minneapolis, MN 55454

3. Application receipt confirmed emailed to applicant by CPE Registrar 4. CPE Manager reviews application and contact applicant to set up Screening Interview or notifies offers explanation for reason to decline Screening Interview. 5. CPE Manager conducts Screening Interview and provides applicant with site specific information concerning the two Residency settings. 6. Site specific ACPE Lead Supervisor contacts applicant with invitation to Onsite Interview or CPE Manager notifies applicant with explanation for decline. 7. ACPE Supervisor/s conducts Onsite Interview. 8. CPE Manager extends invitation to join program by sending a Confirmation Letter or offers decline notification. 9. Applicant returns signed Confirmation Letter to CPE manager.
