Curlew Sociable Cycling

So you want to improve your physical and mental wellbeing in 2016? Curlew Cycling could be just the group for you. We meet monthly, mostly on the last Saturday of each month from different towns or villages in Hambleton and , for a 10.00am start. We are a friendly group who always welcome new people and never leave anyone behind. The rides are never competitive and always sociable, sometimes it seems we do more laughing than pedalling. However, it is hoped that people will get fitter and more confident to travel further as they spend time with us.

If you would like to join us or would like more information, please e mail John Yorke, rides coordinator at [email protected] or telephone evenings, on 07795 097985.

Hambleton and Richmondshire Carers Centre has moved.

After 12 years on High Street Hambleton and Richmondshire Carers Centre has moved. The charitable organisation has relocated to larger, newer premises that are better suited for meeting the needs of carers. The new address is 2 Omega Business Village (off Thurston Road) DL6 2NJ. However, as has always been the case, support workers are more than happy to meet with carers at home.

‘People who are looking after others do not always see themselves as carers’.

The small friendly team at the Carers Centre provide free and confidential support to those people who are caring for a friend or relative. They can help on a range of issues, from one off enquiries such as: how to apply for a Blue Badge, to more complex benefits advice and longer term emotional support for the carer. They support all carers from age 5 to 95 years of age, irrespective of where the person they are caring for lives. If you think you or someone you know might benefit from the service more information is available on the website www.hrcarers.org.uk or by calling 01607 780872. Police Surgery dates

Although crime in general has been low over Richmondshire, the area is still being targeted for shed and garage burglaries in the rural areas. Please can residents make sure that regular checks are conducted with their outbuildings and keep property secure at all times when unoccupied.

There has also been a number of vehicles stolen from areas within Richmondshire due to keys being easily accessed through letterboxes. Please can you keep all vehicle keys in a safe place and out of view when they are not in use.

If you have any issues regarding crime prevention please contact PCSO 3565 Jordan Wallace for any information or advice on 101 or [email protected]

Kind Regards

Many thanks, Amy Ellis Highways Customer Communications Officer Catterick Village Youth Project New members welcome

Catterick Village Youth Project runs on a Thursday night 6:30- 8:30pm at Catterick Village Sports Pavilion. We welcome a small group of young people who are able to spend time with their friends in a fun and safe environment. Activities include those such as pool, games, ping pong, cooking, arts and craft and themed nights depending on the time of year. We recently had a Harry Potter evening jam packed with games and competitions in their set houses and we ended the half term with a Chinese New Year themed evening with party food and games. We break over the half term and return on Thursday 25th February. The first night back we will be discussing projects with the club and also where to go on a trip. Two projects we have in mind are a dance/drama project and a grow your own vegetable patch, as St Mary’s Church has kindly offered us a patch in their garden to develop on. Please come down to join in the fun, meet new people and develop new skills. You will be welcomed with open arms and will soon feel at home!
