Marcus Morelli - Bio

Marcus is President of the video production company, Skene 19 Films, which specializes in creating short films, sketch comedy, music videos, documentaries, TV/web commercials, promotional/corporate videos and event coverage.

While attending Shippensburg University, he met MTV’s , Chris Raab, and the two created a series of short films together. Marcus graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Journalism in 2003.

Since 2005, Marcus has evolved into a well-ranged writer, director, cinematographer, editor, and post-production supervisor on a professional level. He comes from a guerilla style filmmaking background, and his sometimes ‘tongue in check’ productions have prepared him to think and adapt very quickly on set. Understanding and appreciating all aspects of filmmaking has helped him incorporate his unique ‘run and gun’ methods within a wide range of carefully planned and executed projects.

Marcus has written, directed, produced, shot and edited over 100 short films and sketch comedy videos which have been posted to his YouTube channel and other sites. His films have a steady audience of over 22,000 subscribers and have received over 2 million hits to date.

Acknowledged at the Iris Film Festival, Marcus took home the “Audience Choice Award” for Getting My Cup Filled – The Hucumentary in 2005.

In 2007, he reunited with Chris Raab and MTV Jackass and alumni, Brandon DiCamillo and Rake Yohn. Marcus acted as producer, director of photography and editor for Raab’s Hotdog Casserole DVD film project.

In 2008, he directed, shot and edited a reality TV entry video, which landed Jill Snyder an official spot on season five of Bravo’s Top Chef.

From 2006 to 2013, Marcus led the creative department at Kingfish Worldwide Inc. He was responsible for directing, shooting and editing over 200 productions, which included corporate videos, TV/web commercials and live event projects.

With Kingfish, he created many in-house promotional videos for Honda of America. He worked alongside the President of HAM, Hide Iwata, to produce the corporation’s 2011 & 2012 “President Speech” videos, which were shown at their annual event. Marcus worked with 84 Lumber, Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, Habitat for Humanity, and many other clients during his tenure at the company.

While working with Kingfish Worldwide, Marcus founded and still continues to operate Skene 19 Films. He has worked with a variety of artists to create numerous music videos, including Joe Moorhead’s “Bad Day”, which was nationally recognized by Relix Magazine in 2013.

Stepping into feature films, Marcus was hired by Jeff Monahan of 72nd Street Films as an Editor and Post Production Supervisor on Corpsing, which was released in the U.S. and worldwide in 2013 by Fangoria Presents and Spartan Bay. Morelli and Monahan are now in the process of setting up the feature film, Off by Heart, with Marcus shooting, and handling some aspects of post-production.

In June 2014, Marcus’s short film PITTSBURGH WINTER won 1st Place and the Audience Choice Award at the Pittsburgh Film Kitchen’s annual submission contest. As a freelancer, he shot video coverage for the TV show, Right This Minute. Marcus had the opportunity of shooting inside PNC Park, which included an on-camera interview with Pirate’s Andrew McCutchen.

In early 2015, Marcus was named one of Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest. The honor is given to those who exhibit charitable acts toward finding a cure and/or raising awareness for Cystic Fibrosis. He earned his initial nomination by creating two fundraising videos and a short documentary that tells the story of his friend, Heather Hunter’s lifelong battle with the disease. Marcus’s 50 Finest campaign raised over $10,000.

A few months later, the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) contacted Marcus again to award him the “2015 Best Promotional Video” for his Nova State University Baseball Video.

In July 2015, Marcus had the privilege to direct, shoot and edit the official EQT Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta video. He was contracted by Peony Entertainment to capture the three-day event in downtown Pittsburgh.
