Technology Oklahoma In‐Car Video Project using State Fiber and Partnerships The Oklahoma Highway Patrol recently transitioned to wireless video uploads using DPS facilities, Department of Transportation Huts, Oklahoma Turnpike Authority Facilities, Ports of Entry locations and the Health Department network in each county to provide OHP troopers with the ability to off‐load wireless video.

Technology Use: Vehicles Involved in Crimes and Collisions Oklahoma Highway Patrol will demonstrate the technologies found in motor vehicles involved in crimes and crashes. Demonstration will include insurance tracking systems, Berla Infotainment systems, Bosch Crash Data Retrieval and how that data will be used in automated vehicles in the future along with the data systems that may be interrogated in large trucks and buses.

Drone Documentation using 3D Software Applications Quickly document an exterior crime scene or crash scene and quickly open a roadway to prevent secondary collisions using drone documentation.

IACP New Collaboration Platform Last year SPPPOS discussed moving from a list serve as the primary source of communication to a new platform called HigherLogic, offered by IACP. Training and exemplar request for information will occur to train SPPPOS members on how the system can be used.

Using Location Intelligence to Reduce Crashes DPS/OHP will present on how they use the ESRI tools to gain near real time information from troopers. The in‐house built applications to operate the agency more efficiently and how management dashboards can be created to allow /highway patrol agencies leadership to manage their operating units with near real‐time dashboards.

Criminal Investigations Texas Department of Public Safety Marine Unit Texas DPS will present their Marine Unit and discuss the issues the state of Texas faces with border operations and how the various units within DPS collaborate for border security operations.

FBI Cellular Analysis Survey Team (CAST) CAST will make a presentation on how the team may be able to assist state police and highway patrols with investigative measures and how cellular towers actually work. CAST will discuss the free training to state police and highway patrol’s and the software that is available.

National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) NamUs will demonstrate NamUs 2.0 and how law enforcement can use the database. Discussion on the states that have adopted by policy or statute the mandatory entry of missing persons into the database.

Vehicle‐Officer Safety Vehicle Position During Traffic Stops OHP will present their finding on positioning vehicles during traffic stops to reduce injury when someone strikes the rear of the stopped patrol unit. Texas DPS will discuss the research project they conducted to move to an SUV fleet and OHP will discuss the idle research of Dodge Chargers and the comparison against the 2020 Ford Explorer that will use other than gas when the Ford idles.

Community Engagement Texas Department of Public Safety Cops in Schools Texas DPS will present their Cops in Schools project where state troopers office at schools and create partnerships to have a uniformed presence on school campuses in Texas.

Kansas Highway Patrol “Tweeting Troopers” will present their “Tweeting Troopers” to discuss ways to increase community engagement and send a traffic safety message.

Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial Tour Bombing Memorial Tour and Presentation by OHP Trooper Charlie Hanger. Trooper Hanger will discuss apprehending Tim McVey and the attendees will tour the Alfred Murrah Bombing Site and Museum.
