They did not discuss holiday music with one another at the time, which made it all the more ironic when they each decided to tackle the topic this year. “We were kind of jokingly calling it a ‘Cry Pretty Christmas,’ ” says Underwood. But the seasonal music was also something of a tension release. Even though women tend to shoulder more of the stress of the holiday, working on these projects in the middle of a pandemic provided a sense of creative structure. “It was nice to be able to go in and sing these joyful, hopeful, peaceful songs in the middle of such an unsure year,” observes Underwood. “Because I am pretty type A, I like to know what’s going to happen next, and this year was just Willie Nelson took questions from SiriusXM subscribers for a Nov. 26 not about that at all. No one expects “Sleigh Ride” to battle for a top 10 position in July, so many of the artistic guardrails are removed. “The thing that Christmas music allows a lot of is you can kind of widen your scope a little bit and try things that might not normally make sense,” notes Run- away June’s Natalie Stovall. “It absolutely makes sense at Christmas because CMT host Cody Alan (left) chatted with Trisha Yearwood and Garth Christmas is almost like its own genre of music.” Brooks in his Zoom Room on the CMT Radio Facebook page on Nov. 20. While the female acts used their creativity to encapsulate their personalities on their holiday music, a comparison with a few of the male projects shows that those differences between the sexes do play a musical role. Tenpenny’s Neon Christmas takes a male approach in its new material, spending the day in a bar in the title track and turning the yuletide into a steamy bedroom affair in “Snow Angels.” Florida Georgia Line’s “Lit This Year” casts Christmas lights against alcohol in a bit of wordplay, promoting the duo’s Old Camp whiskey in the process. But don’t think those general differences apply to everyone. Dan + Shay’s new titles, “Take Me Home for Christmas” and “Christmas Isn’t Christmas,” find men leaning toward the sentimental. And Kerr is quick to point out that while women are more likely to send cards, she’s certainly not among them. “People are going to put them up on their fridge for what — a week? — and then they’ll drop away,” she reasons. “I’m not wasting that money.” Sony/ATV acquired Lynn Oliver-Cline’s River House Artists catalog, Merry Christmas, no matter how you fit into country’s gender scale. which includes hit songs recorded by Luke Combs and Jake Owen. Dear Patrons, Welcome back to live events at the Bologna Performing Arts Center! We are excited to have artists returning to our stage, and look forward to inviting you to attend shows again. Things will be a little different this spring and summer. Due to the ongoing nature of the pandemic, we are going to put each show on sale individually, about 4-6 weeks before each event. Seating has been reduced for our Spring/Summer Series, and is being sold in staggered pairs and groups. We ask that you purchase all of the seats in the grouping to ensure that patrons are comfortable being seated together. They define their sound as "high energy country with a cajun twist". Their tight musicianship and powerful arrangements of classic and original songs have made them favorites everywhere they go! The music changed and grew in America because of the influence of music brought from other parts of Europe, Latin America and Africa. Country Music moved from the farm to modern America due to radio. • Brian Wilson's Spacious Estate in West Suburban St
May 24, 1998---- The backyard of Brian Wilson's spacious estate in west suburban St. Charles overlooks a calm pond. A playground set stands near the water. Wilson slowly walks out of the basement studio in the home he shares with wife Melinda and daughters Daria, 2, and Delanie, 6 months old. Wilson squints into the midday sun. He looks at a playground slide. Then he looks at a swing set. Wilson elects to sit down on the saddle swing. In a life of storied ups and downs, Wilson's career is on the upswing. The June release of ``Imagination'' (Giant Records) is a return to 1966's ``Pet Sounds'' in terms of orchestration and instrumentation, with its the ambitious patterns of tympanies and snare drums. But equally important are Wilson's vocals, which are the smoothest and most soulful since 1970's ``Sunflower.'' Wilson, 55, has suddenly defied age. Mick Jagger and Pete Townshend are brittle rock 'n' roll barnacles. Ray Davies and Paul McCartney have matured gracefully. Yet here's Wilson singing with effervescent hope on ``Dream Angel,'' which he co-wrote with his co-producer Joe Thomas and Jim Peterik of Survivor and Ides of March fame. The song was inspired by Wilson's new daughters. They make him happy. He says that is why he is writing happy music. On ``Dream Angel,'' Wilson even returned to the tight, late '50s harmonies of the Dell Vikings (``Come Go With Me'') and the Four Freshmen - happy-go-lucky voices that influenced the Beach Boys when they were young.
