FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FENTY BEAUTY TO PARTNER WITH DRESS FOR SUCCESS TO PROVIDE WOMEN WITH JOB TRAINING, WORK ATTIRE, FREE MAKEUP PRODUCTS

SAN FRANCISCO, October 10, 2017 – announced today that it is partnering with Dress for Success to host Highlight for Hire, a weekend-long event in the fall of 2018 at the San Francisco Conference Center in San Francisco. Highlight for Hire will allow 250 unemployed and underprivileged women in the San Francisco area to come together and receive free products and tutorials from Fenty Beauty as well as résumé reviews, job networking opportunities and access to donated work attire from Dress for Success.

CEO of Fenty Beauty, Robyn () Fenty, voiced her anticipation for this upcoming event. “Fenty Beauty is a brand new company,” she said. “I really wanted to try to set up and accomplish something that would help as many women and girls as possible – to help them gain or bolster their self-confidence and their independence.” Though this will be Fenty Beauty’s first collaboration with a nonprofit organization, Rihanna is already familiar with the world of compassionate work; the singer founded her Believe , which benefits terminally ill children, in 2006.

Joi Gordon, CEO of Dress for Success, is equally thrilled for the event. “We’ve done a few collaborations with different companies in the past,” she said. “This upcoming event with Fenty Beauty is very unique compared to anything we’ve ever done; I think that it’s really going to be successful in allowing our cause to gain even more traction across the country than it already has.”

Highlight for Hire will arrange for 250 unemployed women from underprivileged areas in and around the San Francisco area to meet individually with representatives from both Fenty Beauty and Dress for Success. All people will be encouraged to donate any lightly-used work attire to the Dress for Success drives all across the nation, specifically in California, during the weeks leading up to the event. Fenty Beauty will be offering a buy-one-give-one program for the two weeks –more– preceding the event; for every product bought (both in-store and online) an item of equal or lesser value will be allotted specifically for the women participating in the event. During the first day, the women will receive work attire to wear to secured job interviews, as well as résumé and self-promotion workshops . They will also each be given the opportunity to take multiple Fenty Beauty products free of charge. The second day of the event will allow for local people to join the women and their families for a collaborative concert between Rihanna and special guest Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga will present a speech to all of the attending women during the first day, and will return to sing with Rihanna for the concluding performance. She will encourage donations to Dress for Success for several months leading up to the event via her social media accounts.

Gaga has established herself as a passionate advocate for many different causes throughout the years. A beacon of hope for those who believe in non-conformity and individuality, Gaga focuses on many social issues pertaining to human rights, women’s independence, and freedom of expression for all. “I’m so grateful to have been asked to participate in Highlight for Hire,” she stated. “I have always tried to use my position as a public figure to encourage my fans to feel proud of being themselves and to have a positive outlook on life. What Rihanna and the people from Dress for Success are doing is so incredibly important – it’s just such a phenomenal cause and I’m so excited to be a part of it.”

About Fenty Beauty

Rihanna was inspired to create Fenty Beauty after years of experimenting with the best-of-the- best in beauty—and still seeing a void in the industry for products that performed across all skin types and tones. She launched a makeup line “so that women everywhere would be included,” focusing on a wide range of traditionally hard-to-match skin tones, creating formulas that work for all skin types, and pinpointing universal shades. Rihanna Fenty Founder and CEO

Robyn Rihanna Fenty, 29, is the founder and CEO of Fenty Beauty, a new and emerging cosmetic brand. She founded the company in 2017 with the help of intermediate Kendo Holdings in San Francisco; the brand became an overnight success among key players in the makeup industry, with its follower count expanding to reach its current total of 1.8 million since August 1.

Born in Barbados in February 1988, Rihanna moved to America with producer Evan Rogers and his wife after signing with him. Her first hit, “Pon de Replay”, hit the number two spot on the Billboard chart in 2005. She has continued to have many more hit singles and albums, and in 2015 she became the first artist ever to have 100 million singles downloaded and streamed via a digital platform. She collaborated with clothing brand in 2016, and her notoriety and featured shoe design brought Puma an exponential increase in sales.

Fenty Beauty is Rihanna’s top priority at the moment other than her music. The singer signed Fenty Beauty’s contract with Kendo Brands for an initial $10 million, but sale patterns indicate that the company is already far on its way to surpassing that amount.

BACKGROUNDER: HIGHLIGHT FOR HIRE November 2017

Fenty Beauty

Since Fenty Beauty’s launch in September 2017, it has impacted the lives of thousands of women worldwide. The brand’s collection of 40 foundation shades has set it apart from more established brands that simply have not provided some consumers with shades that match their unique skin tones. Beyond foundation, Fenty Beauty also provides consumers with and contour sticks, highlights, eye shadows and lip-glosses. The brand gained traction in the industry exceptionally quickly because it was created and curated by pop-mogul Rihanna and claimed to offer shades that have not previously been accessible in the market.

Mission Statement:

“Fenty Beauty products are designed to feel lightweight, even as they deliver buildable coverage that effortlessly layers, to ultimately make skin look like skin.”

Dress for Success

Since Dress for Success’ launch in 1997, the charity has helped approximately one million women worldwide to come closer to economic independence. According to its website, “Dress for Success is an international not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.” Women are provided with appropriate attire for interviews and jobs, as well as job training and networking opportunities.

Mission Statement:

“The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.”

Highlight for Hire

Fenty Beauty and Dress for Success are partnering to host Highlight for Hire, a collaborative event focused on helping 250 underprivileged women receive the tools necessary for them to feel confident both inside and out. Highlight for Hire will take place over the weekend of January 6 and 7, 2018 at the San Francisco Conference Center. On January 6, participants will receive a variety of free Fenty Beauty products, as well as job training and résumé reviews from a representative of Dress for Success. The following day, members of the public, as well as the participants and their families, are invited to attend a collaborative concert between Rihanna and

Additional monetary and product donations will be made available through a buy-one-give-one campaign of all Fenty Beauty products for the two weeks preceding the event. Support the Cause

Dress for Success and programs like it are truly necessary in today’s world. Though women have made great strides in the workforce in the past 75 years, statistics provided through the United

Nations demonstrate that there is still much to be done before women and men will have equal access and opportunity in the workforce. Only about 50% of women participate in the labor force currently. Though they work more hours collectively than men when unpaid labor is included, women still average 80 cents on a man’s one dollar for equal work.
