M40 Roadworks: We regret to say that we have been informed that the M40 J4 roundabout will be closed in all directions for this weekend From 21:00 Friday 16th February until 05:00 Monday 19th February due to works. High Wycombe may be accessed from the M40 via sign-posted diversions. From the centre of High Wycombe the pool is accessed via the A404 Marlow Hill.

The car parks will be accessible as normal but all traffic will exit via the Leisure Centre access road.

Unfortunately Highways England have been unable to provide information on likely journey times. We anticipate significant additional delays on the A40 at peak times. Please allow additional time to travel to the meet. Highways England M40 Link....

Parking: Car Parking at the new Wycombe Leisure Centre is limited, but ample additional parking is available in the adjacent Coachway Park and Ride, which is currently free of parking charges. Competition goers should not use the Waitrose car park.

Note a 20mph speed limit applies outside the centre. PARKING ENFORCEMENT IS NOW IN PLACE USE THE DESIGNATED CAR PARKS.

Access: We only have access to the changing rooms and poolside from 07:30. Please respect the other clubs using the facility before the meet.

Marshalling Area: We have booked courts A3 and A4 for marshalling. Swimmers must access this area from poolside and not across the other courts. Parents are not allowed in the sports hall. Swimmers may use this area for pre pool warm up

The Pool: We will be using the Competition Pool in Long Course (50m) configuration. The pool depth is a constant 2m and starting blocks are 75cm above the water. Swimmers should not climb out of the pool over the timing pads.

Bench seating for swimmers is available on the spectator side, with ledges on the window side; please follow any space allocations provided. Ends may be reserved for the officials. Please note in order to maintain safe access no large bags may be brought poolside; only small drawstring type bags will be permitted.

Please ensure swimmers either take their rubbish home or dispose of it in the bins provided.

Teams are requested to leave space for officials to walk up and down poolside.

The AOE will be used during this event with timing pads at both ends. All races finish at the banner end of the pool. 50m starts will be from the swim down pool end.

Blocks are Omega Wedge blocks but backstroke start ledges start will not be used in this meet. Over the top starts will be used – please ensure swimmers are aware of what to do.

Emergency Procedures: The signal in the event of an emergency evacuation will be a continuous alarm followed by a spoken announcement. Swimmers poolside will be directed by the centre staff; swimmers will be lined up by the exits and evacuated in a controlled manner when necessary. Please ensure swimmers follow the instructions and do not return to the changing rooms. The marshalling point is in front of the leisure centre car park. Team Managers should check their teams are present and report to the Fire Marshalls when requested. Do not return to the building until the staff tell you it is safe to do so.

Changing Village: Changing rooms are on the left after the turnstiles. There are limited numbers of changing rooms so swimmers should pass quickly through the changing facility to poolside. Please remove dirty outdoor shoes or use the overshoes provided before proceeding through the facility to change.

Swimmers please note that you should use any changing rooms as a temporary changing facility and not leave bags and clothes in any changing room. Please note that only authorised volunteers, officials, team managers, coaches and swimmers will be permitted entry into the changing rooms.

All lockers are secured by Padlock rather than coin mechanism. Padlocks should be 40mm combination locks with a 6mm diameter shackle; these can be purchased at Reception or you can bring your own. The Leisure Centre will be selling padlocks for swimmers. Due to the limited number of lockers in the changing rooms, we would ask swimmers, where possible to share lockers; they are reasonably large and have ample room for two swimmers bags.

Spectators: Please note that spectators may not bring their own chairs and should use the seating provided, and walkways must be kept clear. There are ample spectator seats available and all seats can see the scoreboard Admission to the spectator area will be on a first come first served basis. Access to the spectator area is through the turnstiles and upstairs.

Food Facilities: Wycombe Leisure Centre has a small cafe, offering sandwiches and hot drink; however note that there is not the facility for full catering. Waitrose, located adjacent to the leisure centre, is also open and has a café – Sat 07:00-22:00, Sun 10:00-16:00. Vending machines are available in the centre for all things swimmers probably should not eat or drink.

Dear Stakeholder,

A404 / M40 Junction 4 (Buckinghamshire) Resurfacing

Work will be taking place to resurface the roundabout of the A404/M40 Handy Cross Interchange, to ensure the network remains in a safe condition for road users. Work will involve planing out and replacing the carriageway surface, replacing the traffic signal and census detection loops, renewal of the road markings and studs, and laying of anti-skid material at selected areas of the roundabout.

Enhancing the durability of the road surface will help to prevent the development of potholes and other carriageway defects making this strategically important section of the highway network less susceptible to unplanned or emergency maintenance works.

For the safety of our workforce and customers and due to the activities involved, we will be closing fully the Handy Cross roundabout over the following three weekend periods:

 9pm on Friday 16 February through to 6am on Monday 19 February  9pm on Friday 23 February through to 6am on Monday 26 February  9pm on Friday 2 March through to 6am on Monday 5 March

Please note that should works not be completed over these three weekends, then an additional closure will be planned for Friday 9 through to Monday 12 March 2018.

These works have been carefully programmed but are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances – please check the yellow signs placed in advance at the junction for confirmation of the closures dates/timings.

During these weekend closures the roundabout will be closed as well as the following approach roads (see map overleaf):

 Wycombe Road between Ragmans Lane and the Handy Cross roundabout  A4010 John Hall Way between Crest Road and the Handy Cross roundabout  Marlow Road between Cressex Road roundabout and the Handy Cross roundabout  A404 Marlow Hill between Waitrose/Park and Ride and the Handy Cross roundabout
