MINISTERIAL ORDER

ERECTION OF THE MUNICIPAL DISTRICT OF , NO. 562. Pursuant to the authority vested in me by Section 17a of The Muni- cipal District Act, (being Chapter 41 of the Statutes of Alberta, 1926), the undersigned hereby orders: That the Municipal Districts of Hazelwood, NO. 579, as to a part thereof, Lockerbie,'No. 580, as to a part thereof, Tawatinaw, No. 608, as to a part thereof, Pibroch, No. 609, and Shoal Creek, No. 610, be merged into one new Municipal District to be known and designated as the Muni- cipal District of Westlock, No. 562, and shall, on and after the date this Order becomes effective, comprise the following area: All of Townships 60, 61 and 62 in Ranges 23 and 24, west of the Fourth Meridian; the north two-thirds of Township 59, and all of Townships 60, 61 and 62 in Ranges 25 and 26, west of the Fourth Meridian; the north two-thirds of fractional Township 59, and all of fractional Townships 60, 61 and 62, Range 27, west of the Fourth Meridian; all of Townships 58, 59 60, 61 and 62, in Ranges 1, 2 and 3, west of the Fifth Meridian. That the area included by this Order within the above described boundaries of the Municipal District of Westlock, No. 562, shall be and is divided into seven divisions, for electoral purposes, described as follows: Division No. I: The north two-thirds of Township 59 and the south half of Township 60 in Ranges 25 and 26, west of the Fourth Meridian; the north two-thirds and the south half of fractional Townships 59 and 60, west of the Fourth Meridian. Division No. 2: All of Townships 58 and 59, and the south half of Township 60, Range 1, west of the Fifth Meridian; the east half of Townships 58 and 59, and the south half of the east half of Township 60, in Range 2, west of the Fifth Meridian. Division No. 3: The west half of Townships 58 and 59, and the south half of the west half of Township 60, Range 2, west of the Fifth Meridian; all of Townships 58 and 59, and the south half of Township 60, in Range 3, west of the Fifth Meridian; Division No. 4: The north half of Township 60, and all of Town- ships 61 and 62, in Ranges 2 and 3, west of the Fifth Meridian. Division No. 5: The north half of fractional Township 60, and all of fractional Townships 61 and 62, Range 27, west of the Fourth Meridian; the north half of Township 60, and all of Townships 61 and 62, Range 1, west of the Fifth Meridian. Division No. 6: The north half of Township 60, and all of Town- ships 61 and 62, in Ranges 25 and 26, west of the Fourth Meridian. Division No. 7: All of Townships 60, 61 and 62, Ranges 23 and 24, west of the Fourth Meridian. and that the Council of the said Municipal District hereby constituted shall consist of seven members; one councillor to be elected from each of the said divisions, and the candidate with the highest number of votes in each division shall be declared the councillor for that division. 62 -P THE ALBERTA G.AZGTTE. JdSU.IRY 15, 1943 That Thursday, February 18th, 1943, be fixed as the date for receiving nominations for the office of councillor for each of the said divisions, and that the said nominations, and election, (if any), shall be in accordance with Subsection (11, Paragraph (c) of Section 197 of the said Act. That :he place for receiving nomications for the office of councillor shall be the office of the Village of Westlock, at Westlock. That C. A. Antonson, of Pibroch, be, and he is hereby appointed Returning Officer to conduct the election of one councillor for each division and who shall at least seven clear days before nomination day post up a notice in the form set out in the second part of Form "K in ' the Schedule to The Municipal District Act in accordance with the provisions of Sections 204 and 205 of the said Act. That the Returning Officer shall divide the municipality into polling divisions and name a polling place or places therefor and appoint such Deputy Returning Officers and Poll Clerks as are necessary. That if a poll is required in any division of the said Municipal Dis- trict it shall be held on Thursday, February 2Sth, 1943, from nine o'clock a.m. to five o'clock p.m. That S. V. Lea be, and he is hereby appointed to prepare or cause to be prepared a voters' list of the said Municipal District of Westlock, No. 562, in the same manner set out in Section 184 of The Municipal District Act and for such purpose shall have access to the assessment rolls ar.d the voters' lists of the Municipal Districts which are in whole or in part merged by this Order into the Municipal District of Westlock, No. 562, and the said S. V. Lea shall in compiling or causing to be com- giied said voters' list comply as far as possible wit!l the provisions of Sections 185. 136 and 187 of The Municipal District -4ct and carry out or cause :o be csrried out all the duties imposed by said Sectiocs upon the Secretary-Treasurer of a Municipal District at the time and in the man- ner required of a Secretary-Treasurer. That with respect to the date of erection only, of the Municipal Districr of TVestlock. No. 562. this Order shall become effective on the 1st day of February, l9.13. That with respect to any other matter or thing referred to herein this Order shall become effective as of the date of the signing of the Order.
