Heritage Centre

Now I know that there are a lot of you out there with an avid interest in the History of Coltishall and Horstead and the surrounding villages. How March 2013 do I know this? I know it not only from the extensive range of Community News Letter for Coltishall, photographs/ maps etc that you readers have and from time to time send Horstead with Stanninghall, Great & Little Hautbois and Badersfield. to the Marlpit, but also from the response we receive to the inclusion in the magazine of historical items. We are aware that many of these items are at risk of being lost or discarded when the owner is no longer around Volunteer Editorial Staff to look after them. I believe that what we need is a building where all such historical information can be stored and displayed for the benefit of Editor &Advertising: all to see and appreciate. The redundant Salvation Army Hall could be the ideal place for a Heritage Mel Douglass Centre and it is now “on the market”. 01603 737 637 To convert the building into a Heritage Centre grants would most certainly [email protected] be available from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Biffawards and others and Secretary: Philippa Weightman we are very pleased that we now have a volunteer from Coltishall to take 01603 737 962 on the challenge of obtaining grants for projects such as this. If we don’t act to provide a place to store and display the history of this 01603 737 577 area then there is the very real danger that in time it will be lost for ever.
