Editor: [email protected] 5 Tel: 01303 863737 Garage Sale Safari – Saturday 10th October 2020 The Lyminge Association Committee has decided to put on the autumn Garage Safari on 10th October. It is a month later than normal due to the earlier uncertainty of running one. The uncertainty remains, and will remain for the foreseeable future. However, we thought we would prepare the community for such an event and provide some opportunity to move-on some of the clutter collected over the past 6 months. Obviously, this whole event is governed by the legislation put in place by Folkestone & Hythe District Council and the Government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. For this reason, we may need to cancel the event, in which case a full refund will be given. Application forms will be available from 1st September and can be down-loaded from our website (www.lyminge.org. uk/newsletter). Please respect others and take care. You are personally responsible for the care and well-being of your patrons, ensuring that the social distancing and any other rules of the day are closely adhered to.

A FIRE AT LYMINGE. FOLKESTONE FIREMAN INJURED. On Saturday afternoon Captain Nichols, of the Folkestone Fire Brigade, and reached the scene of the outbreak within an hour. It appears that two hay stacks at Valley Farm, which is in the occupation of Mr. Fisher, who also carries on business as a corn factor in Foord Road, a portion of one of them was saved. During the operations Fireman Wood unfortunately had one of his feet very badly burned, and had to be conveyed home. He is progressing favourably, but it is doubtful whether he will be able to resume his duties for a considerable time. The brigade returned to Folkestone just before ten o'clock.
