DOLPHINS WIN PRESEASON HOME OPENER, 37- 17

• The Dolphins raced out to a 30-3 start today, winning their first home preseason game of the season, 37-17. • The 20-point win was Miami’s largest margin of victory in a preseason game since a 34-7 win at Atlanta on Aug. 30, 2018.

EGUAVOEN HAS FOUR SACKS AND A SAFETY

• LB Sam Eguavoen had a memorable preseason performance, recording 11 tackles (seven solo), four sacks and a safety. • Eguavoen’s four sacks were the most by an NFL player in a preseason game since at least the 2017 season. • His four sacks were the most by a Dolphins player in a preseason game since Aug. 12, 2002 when Adewale Ogunleye had four sacks at Tampa Bay. • Eguavoen sacked Atlanta QB Feleipe Franks for a loss of nine yards and a safety at the 7:09 mark of the third quarter. The safety gave Miami a 23-3 lead.

TAGOVAILOA COMPLETES NINE IN A ROW TO BEGIN GAME

• QB started the game completing his first nine passes, totaling 92 yards. • He went 8-for-8 (100.0 pct.) for 78 yards in the first quarter, becoming the first NFL player this preseason to complete 100 percent of his passes in the first quarter of a game (minimum five attempts). • Tagovailoa threw his first preseason touchdown to RB , an 8-yard score that gave Miami a 14-3 lead in the second quarter.

GASKIN SCORES TWICE

• RB Myles Gaskin had a productive first half, rushing six times for 27 yards (4.5 avg.) and catching four passes for 44 yards (11.0 avg.). • Gaskin had two scores – one in the air and one on the ground – to give Miami a 14-3 lead in the second quarter. • His first touchdown came on a 1-yard run in the first quarter, giving the Dolphins a 7-3 lead. • Gaskin’s second score was an 8-yard reception from QB Tua Tagovailoa in the second quarter.

• LB intercepted Atlanta QB Feleipe Franks in the fourth quarter. The interception led to a 2-yard touchdown pass from QB to WR that gave Miami a 37-10 lead.
