Baxi Mago smart room that simplifies your life Baxi Mago: the chronothermostat that simplifies your life

Baxi Mago is the modulating chronothermostat with integrated wi-fi, designed to simplify the life of installers and end users. It allows to control your home comfort (, ) via mobile application thanks to the wi-fi connection*, wherever you are. The App can be donwloaded from your smartphone or tablet and it is possible to connect one or more households to: control the heating, manage the schedule, display consumptions, display boiler fault diagnosis, set holiday mode, etc.

An innovative tool with a unique design, combining extreme ease of use and modern design.

*If the option is available in your country. Aesthetically pleasing and easy to use! Thanks to the knob and to the back-lighted display the temperature can be easily adjusted. The display screen is easy to read. Presence detection allows the unit to light up when you approach it. The intuitive menu has a top button to select and confirm operation and a bottom button to go back and return to Home screen.

Quick Auto Programming Quick Auto Programming automatically creates a schedule based on your habits after answering few questions.

Multiple smartphones or tablets control option Pairing the device allows the heating control, wherever you are. Multiple smartphones or tablets control option is available, so each member of the family can interact.

2 Baxi Mago

It follows your schedule! Schedule your to come on when you need it, setting two different weekly schedules. It is also possible to create five different scenarios related to multiple temperature requirements (“day”, “night”, “evening”, “out of home”, etc.).

Consumptions under control It provides a guide to how much energy your is using showing weekly, monthly or annual consumptions graphs.

It helps you saving money! Baxi Mago allows you saving money on your energy bills: thanks to the control from smartphone or tablet, it is possible to reduce the temperature while you are away, with saving on consuptions. Furthermore, it modulates the power of the boiler with less consumptions both on heating and DHW production.

3 Features and communication protocols

The different communication protocols are listed below: the protocol must be chosen according to the boiler. R-BUS R-BUS is the communication protocol, owned by BDR THERMEA, used in the new platform of products such as Prime and heat pumps (PBS-i WH2; PBS-i FS2). The product based on this protocol can be connected directly to Baxi Mago, without any gateway. OpenTherm (OT) OpenTherm (OT) is a standard communication protocol used in the heating systems between the boiler and the thermostat. As a standard protocol, it doesn’t depend on the producer. Some features have been implemented to allow Baxi Mago working with heating systems of other brands. OT communicates with 2 wires, indipendant from the polarity and without batteries. GTW16 (OT) is listed, with all technical information, in the website of OpenTherm Association. BSB BSB is not an open standard protocol, it is a BUS communication protocol, owned by SIEMENS. To use Baxi Mago with Baxi products based on this protocol, it is necessary to install GTW17 between Baxi Mago and the boiler. BSB has a specific polarity that must be respected: usually, the information regarding the polarity are in the manual of the boiler.

Positioning the chronothermostat

The room unit must be positioned taking into account the following factors: • On an internal wall • Away from draughts • 1.2-1.5m from the floor • Not behind doors, bookcases or other objects • Not in direct sunlight • In a room where the user spends most of their time • Away from heat sources (, , light, candles, etc.)

Presence sensor

The main screen of the display lights up as you move your hand towards the thermostat or when passing by. The presence sensor allows the display to turn off automatically when going away, with energy savings.
