Call for applications: International Scholarships (Master level) at University, Saint Etienne,

Section 1: What it is about Jean Monnet University, through its Foundation, aims to attract high level international students and support their studies in the frame of its international Master degrees, by offering scholarships (the objective is to welcome high level international students who aspire to further integrate Jean-Monnet University research laboratories for PhD studies). No direct students’ applications will be taken into consideration. Interested students should first apply to each Master program. Upon the quality of the applications, the admission board will pre-select a few students. Those pre-selected applicants will be contacted directly by the Master coordinators and they will be required to fill in the scholarship application form before May 15th 2019.

Section 2: Conditions for applicants Students of all nationalities are welcomed. Applicants at the M1 level must have an undergraduate degree, such as a Bachelor Degree. Applicants at the M2 level must have an undergraduate degree (such as a Bachelor Degree) and additional 60 credits (ECTS or equivalent)

The prerequisites are those corresponding (strictly associated with) to the curriculum of international Master degrees (see list below) of Jean Monnet University. The scholarships will be primarily attributed to students enrolled at M1 level. Applications associated with enrolment at the M2 level are also encouraged although reserved for very high level students.

Section 3: Conditions for students supported by a scholarship Receiving a scholarship from Jean Monnet University Foundation does not exempt students from the necessary registration process through Campus France web site using the “Etudes en France” procedure (Campus France: http://www.campusfrance.org). Section 4: Exclusions Students that are already registered in the French educational system, at the time of the request, are excluded from the application process. Jean Monnet University reserves the right to refuse a grant or change the terms of the grant if the information given on the candidate’s form, at the time of processing, proves to be false. Jean Monnet University Foundation scholarships are not cumulative with other French scholarships.

Section 5: Terms of participation

Submission of forms:

Interested students should first apply to each Master program. Upon the quality of the applications, the admission board of each Master will pre-select a few students. No direct students’ applications to Jean Monnet University Foundation will be taken into consideration. Incomplete forms or those handed in after the deadline will be refused.

Section 6: Selection process At the end of the pre-selection operated by the supervisors of each international master degree, pre- selected applications are sent to the Vice-President International Relations of Jean Monnet University.

Applications validated by the Vice-President International Relations of Jean Monnet University will be subjected to a final round of selection by Foundation members on June 1st, 2019.

The final list of students who may receive the scholarships by Jean Monnet University Foundation will be sent to international Masters supervisors on June 15th, 2019. They will then inform the applicants.

Selected students will then have a 15 days period to confirm that they accept the scholarship. Beyond that date, they will be considered to have resigned from the application process.

Article 7: Financial arrangements Jean Monnet University Foundation is proposing a total amount of money of 36,000 € which will be divided into 6 international scholarships of 6,000 € each depending on the total of students selected.

Students may only benefit once from a Jean Monnet University Foundation International scholarship.

The International scholarship awarded to the student is specifically associated with the degree for which he (she) is studying.

The payment of the International Scholarship will be via bank transfer. 25% of the total amount when the student will arrive in France after his/her registration with Jean Monnet University, then 25% in December 2019, 25% in March 2020, and the remaining 25% at the end of the academic year (only if the student attend all courses and respect the missions to which he/she commits while being International Scholarship given by UJM Foundation holder.

Article 8: Missions of scholarship holder Any beneficiary of the international attractiveness grant must participate in a communication action around the following themes: - Introduction/promotion of the area - Introduction/promotion of the program in which he is registered

- Introduction of the program to his/her home university This can be done through: - Articles written in English - Photo reports - Videos - Presentations in class (in the frame of the introduction of the program to the home university)

Article 9: Communication Jean Monnet University Foundation has the right to manage the communication around the selected students. Successful students agree to actively participate, at the request of the Jean Monnet University Foundation, in all related promotion and communication events organized.
