Stanford University Head Coach Thom Glielmi guided the Cardinal to a No. 1 national ranking through the regular season with a four-score overall team average of 414.783. Stanford also finished ranked on top of the nation on the vault (73.117), parallel bars (69.333) and still rings (69.017), second nationally on the high bar (67.167) and exercise (70.067), and fourth on pommel horse (66.417). Stanford was the only team in the country to reach a 420 total in a meet, doing so twice (Feb. 8 & Jan. 25). Individually, Stanford collected an all-time program record 16 All-American selections this year, at least double the amount of any other team in the nation. Glielmi, who guided Stanford to last year’s NCAA championship as well as titles in 2009 and 2011, has established the Cardinal as a perennial national contender. Stanford has placed among the top-five at the national championships for 14 consecutive seasons. This the fourth MPSF Coach of the Year award for Glielmi, including a repeat from last year (2020, 2019, 2014, 2009).
