St Andrew’s Day Collection 2020 in aid of Young Woman’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Palestine

The YWCA, located in is a long-standing partner of The Church of Scotland. It aims to promote women's full and equal participation at all levels of society, empowering them to take up leadership opportunities and training. Mobilizing women’s collective power is one of the most effective ways of working for economic and social justice. Issues of prime importance such as women's rights, justice, equality, freedom, the dignity of human beings and integrity of their environment are advocated for. Programmes include vocational training; courses in computer skills, language learning; children and youth activities; social and cultural activities; income generating projects; and advocacy work in areas such as human rights. In addition to their central office in East Jerusalem, they have local associations in Jericho and , and three centres in refugee camps: Aqabat Jabr, and Qalandia.

The YMCA of East Jerusalem and the YWCA of Palestine have created the Joint Advocacy Initiative, whose work can be found at http://www.jai-pal.org/en/.
