It wasn't a comprehensive file, and while it was popular (just hit 1,000 downloads this morning, in less than 3 months), it's not something I want for my own use or something that the librarian in teaching me thinks should be there. So after a few months of working on a project where I could-snatch minutes and hours between work, graduate school, and make Cthulhus- I'm very proud to announce that I've finished a book full of G.P. Lovecraft's works. In fact, I expanded my original design and made versions for both The Corner (EPUB) and for Kindle (MOBI). Download Options August 1, 2011: I also created a copy of the PDF for people who can't use any of the formats above. It's pretty big on 8MB and doesn't display nearly as well on e-readers as others. But it works for computers, probably iPad-type devices, and just hangs on. I started this project because I couldn't find a free or inexpensive (or expensive) EPUB ebook full of Lovecraft works for my corner. Many compilations or standalone stories exist, but as you can see from the content table list below, there are a lot of these stories and having them in separate files will be a bit of an organizational nightmare. About Full works by G.P. Lovecraft contains original stories that Lovecraft wrote as an adult. It begins in 1917 with and ends in 1935 with his last original work The Phantom of Darkness. The book is ordered in chronological order to the date of the written history. Since Lovecraft was a terrible businessman and did not leave the heirs of his intellectual property, all his works are already in the public domain. I do not include collaboration or change because some of these works may still be copyrighted by the co-author. There's also left two totally non-Weird very early stories. the process of creating a book After putting together one very large HTML file containing complete work with a related content table, I formatted as EPUB for Nook using Sigil and converted it into a MOBI for Kindle using caliber. When I created the original EPUB of most of Lovecraft's work, based on a file from the Australian Gutenberg project, I used Calibre to convert it from HTML. But while caliber converts well from EPUB to MOBI, it doesn't work nearly as well, going from HTML to EPUB. HTML tags fell in places, making the layout look sloppy. The Sigil interface allows you to create and edit a book that made it much better than I've gotten through my numerous caliber conversion attempts. 3/4/11 - I've updated an e-book with a cover created by Santiago Casares, and a Lovecraftian fan. Writing a book on your eReader eReader downloading e-books contains several different files for two different formats. I've put together a page with my own and other people's tips and step-by-step tips to help you add a book to your eReader. People with Sony Readers are especially encouraged to use the page as it seems they will have to do an EPUB-'gt; EPUB conversion by caliber or it will not be displayed correctly. If you're using straight, unpacked versions, you can just use your usual methods. Licensing and recognition (updated 6/20/2011) All works contained in this book are in the public domain. However, thanks to some reverse piracy, I officially licensed the e-book according to Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Profit 3.0 Unported (CC BY-NC 3.0) (formalization of the request I originally made in this post, just to put it in legal terms). The book can be redistributed, torn apart, revised, etc., but please don't sell it. Downloading to your site for download is normal. If you decide to share or redistribute a book, please give credit to Squid Studio. Basically, you can do something with it, but sell it. It's not too hard... except for one person. Updated again: I put an illustrated version on Amazon, which currently only available abroad. I would like to express my gratitude to the three websites without which I would not have been able to make the book: HPLovecraft.com, DagonBytes.com and Project Gutenberg (especially the Australian Gutenberg Project). I would also like to thank the GP Lovecraft Literary Podcast for getting me interested in Lovecraft and Terry from GameCouch for adjusting the Kindle version.
