• Capilano Suspension Bridge This spectacular suspension footbridge is part of a 25 acre park including a native carving centre, exhibits, gift store, restaurant and other attractions. is the historic centre of the downtown district and is a quick 15 minute walk from the hotel. (follow Burrard St. northbound to Cordova St. and turn right – the entrance is two more blocks on the left side.) Distinctive architecture houses various shops, galleries and casual dining cafes.

offers local craft stores and galleries, as well as Vancouver’s premiere Public Market. Also on the island is the Kid’s Market, which is home to about 18 different toy stores! Follow Hornby St. southbound (15 min.) to terminal and ferry across – otherwise, 10 minutes in a taxi.

• Whale Watching: There are a number of companies that offer whale watching trips from Vancouver. Wild Whales of Vancouver www.whalesvancouver.ca , Vancouver Whale Watch www.vancouverwhalewatch.com , Steveston Seabreeze Adventures www.seabreezeadventures.ca . Whild Whales is one of the only ones that departs from Vancouver and their trips are the longest (between 5-7 hours...as they travel the furthest by water to see the whales). Vancouver Whale Watch and Steveston Seabreeze depart from Steveston fishing village (a 45 minutes drive South of Vancouver) and the trip is about 5 hours. Prince of Whales offers a whale watching excursion from (4 hours one way) and then drops you off in Victoria, on Vancouver Island. You have the opportunity to visit Victoria and Butchart Gardens. Otherwise if you are heading over to Victoria there are a dozen outfitters that run whale watching tours throughout the day (3 hour excursions). Travelling to and from Victoria there are many options: by float plane or helicopter it is 35 minutes trip one way at the rate of $149.00 per person in each direction. Otherwise it is 4 hours one way by coach and ferry ($45.00 per person in each direction). If you would like a coach tour of Victoria including Butchart gardens and whale watching there is a company called Landsea Tours and their rate is $309.00 per person.
