LB Kourtney Berry (ALST) The Southwestern Athletic Conference lands four (Kourtney Berry-Alabama State, Martez Carter-Gram- RB Lenard Tillery (SUBR) bling State, Javancy Jones-Jackson State and Willie Quinn-Southern) on the 2016 STATS FCS All-Ameri- LB Javancy Jones (JKST) ca Team. The announcement was made Monday morning. Quinn was selected as a preseason First Team All-America selection as a kick returner. Quinn is one of the most feared return specialists in the country. In 2015, the 5-5, 145-pound speedster was a fi rst-team All-SWAC honoree, he returned 25 kickoffs for 28.8 yards and four touchdowns in addition to running back seven punts at a 5.6 yard clips and another score. Quinn also hauled in 49 receptions for 592 yards three touchdowns. In all, he accounted for 1,350 all-purpose yards and 8 touchdowns.

Berry, a second team All-America option won the 2015 SWAC Defensive Player of the Year award has led the SWAC in tackles during each of his fi rst three seasons. The Merrillville, Ind. product accounted for a league-best 130 tackles and two fumble recoveries. He is a three-time First Team All-SWAC performer and has earned several pre-and post-season honors. Berry is among eight returning starters from one of the league’s best defenses as the Hornets ranked second in scoring (24.8 ppg), fi rst against the run (142.4 ypg), fi fth against the pass (222.8 ypg) and second in total defense (365.2 ypg).

Jones and Carter were both third team selections. Jones ended the 2015 campaign with 107 tackles, 7.5 sacks and led the nation with 25.5 stops in behind the line of scrimmage. In the fi nal two games of last season, Jones, who battled various injuries throughout the season, posted 28 tackles, 9.5 for loss, 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.
