Health and Welfare I am Denise Beauchamp, the Health and Welfare trustee for Trailer Estates Park & Recreation District. I am responsible for sending get well and sympathy cards to residents in the Park, however, to do that I need your assistance. So if you aware of residents in the hospital, rehabilitation center or deceased let me know. The Park’s telephone directory can assist Park residents with names and phone numbers of agencies and organizations which provide services in our area. I have resources to direct residents to appropriate organizations for sick room supplies. I’m the board representative/contact for arrangements with community service organizations. I welcome all suggestions to help me accomplish these tasks. I may be reached at [email protected]; or at 906- 362-4003 or 941-756-7177, ext.109. I look forward to serving you. Happy 4th of July Blood Drives I want to thank everyone who participated in the Blood drive on January 14th and March 18th to make these events successful. I am pleased to share with you that the recent blood drives resulted in 37 units of blood. Remember, each donation can save up to three lives, so that means 117 patients could benefit from the lifesaving efforts of blood donors from our organization. Every two seconds, someone needs blood. The blood donated at our blood drive will likely be transfused into a patient within 48 to 72 hours. The turn- around is that fast and is that constant. We have two drives already scheduled for next year, Thursday January 20, 2022 and March 17, 2022. Hope to see you there. Mark your calendar. Letters received will be reviewed at next regular meeting to possibly fill vacancy. Basic Marina Information The marina is very limited on longer size slips. If you are going to buy a boat that is over 19 feet long, PLEASE, call the Dock master to see if we have a slip available. The Dock master has had to disappoint several people by telling them we had no place for them to dock their boat. Boats will only be rented slips that they fit in. For instance, if you have a boat that fits in a 28 foot slip, you will not be able to rent a 30ft slip, if your boat fits in a 22ft slip, you will not able to rent a 26ft slip. The larger slips are for larger boats. Boats are measured from the farthest thing that sticks out on the bow, to the motor in full tilt. We do not measure your boat by what it says on the registration. If you are buying a party boat, deck boat or pontoon boat, please watch the size of the beam (width) of the boat you buy. These newer, wider, boats have a hard time fitting in many of the slips without touching the sides of the decking. Please buy a boat that will give you room, on each side, to adjust with the ebb and flow of the tide. The Dock master is a volunteer who lives here in TE. This volunteer position helps to keep the marina costs down. The Dock master DOES NOT get any benefits from being the Dock master other than the satisfaction of helping the community. The Dock master pays the same marina fees as you pay. Paula works full time, 12 hour shifts. She is usually available 2-4 days a week depending on her schedule. Her voice mail is frequently updated and will tell you the soonest she can meet, if she does not answer. Please do not call the office, they cannot change Paula’s work schedule nor can they rent you a slip. Please be patient. Paula’s number is 941-545-4255. C.E.R.T. (COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM) A 501 (C) 3 Organization We are “Neighbors helping Neighbors” www.cert-te.org Hurricane season is quickly approaching. If you don’t have your hurricane guide, our CERT volunteers will soon be giving out the guide as well as other pertinent hurricane information at the post office. We have just graduated our first CERT Basic Training class held in Trailer Estates. We want to thank Trailer Estates and its staff for making this a pleasant experience for all. This training provides more hands to care for our Trailer Estates residents in the event of an emergency. We look forward to holding another Basic Train- ing Class in the near future. If you are interested in having FEMA certification as a CERT volunteer, come to our CERT meeting held the third Wednesday of the month at 10:00AM, Small Hall. All are welcome. We want to recognize Cedar Hammock Fire and Rescue for in- structing our class in Search and Rescue as well as Fire Safety. The class was excellent. We participate quarterly with representatives of the Fire De- partments, Sheriff’s Department and Emergency Management as well as the other Manatee County CERT teams to insure a better response in an emergency. If you have concerns or questions about emergency response, please discuss with a CERT member. We are currently investing in new HAM equipment to insure being able to communicate in a disaster to get help for our com- munity. We will be offering HAM classes to prepare to obtain A HAM license, you do not need to be a CERT member to take this class. We hope this message finds you well. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers! We are a loving Christian community that faithfully serves the T.E. community. All are welcome to participate and enjoy worshiping our Creator. We would like you to know that we are offering in-person wor- ship services again. If you feel comfortable and are able, we would love for you to join us in the large hall from 9am to 10am Sunday mornings. We are also live streaming the service at 9am on channel 732 and posting the service on YouTube after 6 pm on Sundays if you prefer. We have resumed some of our community activities and are hoping for a quick return to all of our community gatherings and events. We have missed our dinners and the fellowship that occurs at so many events. Listed below are a couple of community events that are currently taking place. Women’s “Quiet Time at the Beach” meets every Wednesday morning at 8:00 am in the T.E. beach. All women from the Park and the Church are invited for an hour of prayer and devotions. “Fisher’s of Men” meet for lunch and fellowship at the Anna Maria Oyster Bar each Wednesday at 11:30. All men from the Park and the Church are invited to join us for a meal and fellowship. The Manatee County Food Bank barrel is located outside the post office and is accepting all non-perishable food items. Since we moved the barrel to the post office we have sent more than 36 barrels of food from T.E. to the local food bank to help those in need! We have a prayer chain and are always willing to assist you with your prayer needs. The power of prayer should never be underes- timated! Please let us know if you would like prayer for yourself, , or family. If you have questions, concerns, would like to speak to the pastor, or be added to our prayer list you can call the church office and leave a message at (941) 756-7722 or send an email to techurch1@ gmail.com.
