The School Modern School (BMS) is an Independent Co-educational Day School, governed by the . There are more than 1200 students in the School ranging in age from 7 to 18. BMS enjoys a reputation both locally and regionally for excellence in Sport and Performance Arts and our school community is friendly, happy and supportive.

The School is located on the outskirts of Bedford, a town recognised as one of the best places to live in the East of by the Sunday Times recently. The External Relations department brings together the complimentary business areas of PR, marketing, admissions, communications, fundraising and alumni relations. Location: Bedford Modern School

Reporting Line: Communications and Marketing Manager, Admissions Managers

Hours: 37.5 per week, full year, 8.30 – 17.00 Monday - Friday, occasional evenings/varied hours to attend or manage events.

Salary: £21,000 pa

Role summary:

To provide administrative and project support for the Marketing and Admissions functions of the External Relations department.

Job Description – External Relations Officer (Admissions and Marketing)

Admissions • Provide general administrative support to the admissions team including all aspects of the student application process • Deal with parent enquiries by email and phone, and conduct personal tours of the school if required • Assist the department in the running of physical and online events, particularly through platforms such as Zoom and MS Teams • Implement the migration from paper-based to digital systems • Generate database reports • Enter written and numerical data onto a variety of databases and spreadsheets

Marketing • Analyse and interpret data to inform marketing plans, including Google Analytics and wider market research Main duties • Assist with integrated marketing campaigns, including digital (SEO, PPC, and social media advertising) responsibilities • Keep the relevant school website pages up to date and liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure fresh content is uploaded regularly

General • Process purchase orders and other relevant financial transactions • Support all staff to make effective use of the brand and adhere to brand guidelines • Provide ad hoc administrative support for the Director of External Relations and undertake specific projects as required on their behalf • Work as part of the wider External Relations team to support other key projects, including the annual BMS Open Day

You may also be required to undertake such comparable duties as the Trust requires from time to time.
