What an event it was! The worldwide celebration of Hashas, which took place around the world on January 1, was extraordinary. There was a large group from the Young Israel of New Rochelle joining the celebration at MetLife Stadium, which was filled. Some may have gone to the Barclay Center in . The theme was how is the secret of Jewish survival and the unity that is brought through the Torah. Chasidim, Litvish, and Modern Orthodox joined together in song, dance and inspirational talks, celebrating together the same Torah.

There will be a fantastic opportunity to begin with the rest of the Jewish world when the new cycle begins this Sunday, January 5, with Berachos.

Sometimes it is difficult to recognize something special in our own backyard. I believe that we offer a great every day in New Rochelle. We have had visitors and commuters join us at various times.

Anyone in the group doing Daf Yomi can attest to their "Simchas Hachaim," happiness in life, being improved tremendously through this. It is really magical. This was an idea that was stressed during the celebration at MetLife Stadium.

I believe that we offer a high-quality 50-minute shiur every day. Rabbi Fink continues to give the shiur three times a week, usually Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. You all know his breadth of knowledge and brilliance. It is such an opportunity and treat.

Tully Auerbach gives shiur every Sunday morning. His preparation, thoroughness, wit, and sprinkling of Chasidic thought are quite special.

Jack Bruder teaches on Monday. Jack has an incredible breadth of knowledge also, having learned for many years so much and has so much more to offer than just what is on the Daf. Arthur Turetsky on Friday, with his sweet manner, shares with us some of his thoughtful ideas related to the Daf, along with his presentation of the Daf. Mark Wasserman on Shabbos is magical. His clarity is extraordinary. Time seems to slow down when he presents as he always manages to finish the Daf in his clear and deliberate manner. Harold Rosengarten has been a fantastic sixth man off the bench filling in at a moment’s notice on a frequent basis. His legal mind is sharp and analytic, and as a lawyer, he explains everything in a clear understandable manner. Pinchas Nissani joins us from Scarsdale every day, and also gives a clear and well-prepared shiur consistently.

Ari Paley has joined our morning shiur and will be filling in, giving the Daf one time next week.

We are excited about the prospect of having new members join our morning Daf or the evening Daf, organized and managed by Jay Dobkin. We also would be delighted to give newcomers the opportunity to teach the Daf if they wish.

Join us! We would like so much to have you with us. Join together with likely hundreds of thousands of Jews throughout the world on the same mission.
