SEA ISLE CITY – During Memorial Day Weekend, hundreds of Cape May County Herald Newspapers on Facebook athletes will gather in Sea Isle City to compete in the 5th Annual Tri- For-Our-Veterans Triathlon and Duathlon Sat., May 26, starting at 7:00 a.m. The popular sprint-distance race will attract participants from across the nation, including active-duty military personnel, cadets and midshipmen from West Point and Annapolis Military Academies, members of running clubs, university students and many other athletes who will help raise money for the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund and Sea Isle City’s VFW Post 1963. Those entered in the Tri-For-Our-Veterans race can compete in either a triathlon or a duathlon on May 26. The triathlon includes a ¼-mile ocean swim, an 8.3-mile bicycle course and a 3.1-mile run. The duathlon features a 2-mile run, an 8.3-mile bicycle course and an additional 3.1-mile run.
