CANCER SURVIVOR TO SHARE HIS STORY AT 48TH SOUTH AUSTRALIAN CHARITY LUNCH - RAISING MONEY FOR CHILDREN’S CANCER CHARITY CAMP QUALITY

Camp Quality volunteer Shaun Li will share his own personal experience dealing with cancer at the 48th Annual ANZIIF South Australian Charity Luncheon on the 14th of May at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Shaun Li’s life changed dramatically when he was 10 years old and diagnosed with a Wilms' tumour — a rare kidney cancer that primarily affects children. Over 10 years later, Li volunteers and captures photos for Camp Quality, a non-profit organisation that offers services and programs created specifically to support children aged up to 15 years, who are dealing with their own cancer diagnosis, or the diagnosis of someone they love, like a brother, sister, mum or dad.

Camp Quality has also taught Li the importance of laughter and living joyfully in challenging times. ‘The kids at Camp Quality help me to forget about my troubles and truly live in the moment,’ Li told ANZIIF.

‘The charity luncheon has been running for over four decades, providing a platform for the South Australian industry to give back to the community by generating awareness and raising money for children and families affected by cancer,’ says Damian Falkingham, ANZIIF General Manager Industry Engagement.

‘The whole team at ANZIIF is excited to once again host ‘COVID-safe’ in-person professional development and networking events in 2021 – I encourage South Australian professionals to make use of our early bird ticket sale and support Camp Quality.

Former Port Adelaide footballer and media personality Tim Ginever has been announced as the MC for the ANZIIF South Australian Charity Luncheon.

Early bird tickets are available until 2 April.

Funds raised will go to Camp Quality, a registered, not-for-profit, children’s cancer charity which has been operating in since 1983.
