The series premiered on October 3, 2016 on Disney XD. It revolves around the main character, Milo Murphy, who is a descendant of Edward A. Murphy Jr., the namesake of Murphy's Law, which states that anything that can go wrong will go wrong. The series takes place in the same universe as the previous series of Povenmire/Marsh Phineas and Ferb, with several references to the show taking place in the first season, culminating in a crossover at the beginning of the second season and lasting on several plot threads from the first series. Asked about the third season in October 2019, Povenmire said they were still waiting for an extension of the third season, but said it could happen when the series is launched on Disney's streaming service. When asked again about the current odds of a third season in May 2020, Povenmire said they are still low and all odds depend on a spike in views on Disney that has yet to happen. The main characters of Weird Al Jankovic - Milo Murphy, the main character of the series. He has a reputation for extreme unhappiness and inflicting some of it on others as a result of what happened from the creator of the Murphy Act; nevertheless, he is optimistic and constantly finds ways to overcome it. He carries a backpack, which always seems to have what he needs for any given situation. It was given to him by his old nanny, Veronica, who was the only one who could handle Murphy's Law. Sabrina Carpenter as Melissa Chase, Milo's longtime best friend, who likes to hang out with him despite his bad luck. Her father is a local fire chief. She had a secret fear of a roller coaster, as one nearly fell on her, and fake front teeth after catching a pop fly. Mekai Curtis as zack Underwood, the new kid in the Tri-State Area who becomes Milo's best friend and Sticks Milo, though he He's on the football team. He was once the lead singer of a boy band called The Lumberzacks. He's often a straight man of the series. Supporting the home of Murphy Umerrich Bader as Martin Murphy, Milo's father. Dan Povenmire as Dr. Heinz Doof Doofenshmirtz/ Professor Time, a former evil scientist- turned-O.V.C.A. member who Milo faces in search of a time professor, the future self-doof, in the final episode of the first season. After his house collapses through Murphy's Law, Doofenshmirtz is going to live with the Murphy family in a shed in his garden and becomes an auxiliary character during the second season. Jefferson County High School Chrissy Fit as Amanda Lopez, a student in the Milo class who is a perfectionist and Milo's love interest. Vincent Martella's - Bradley Nicholson, a pessimist and arrogant student who is jealous of the attention that Milo receives. Because of the continuum of space-time altered during the Fineas and Ferb Effect, his right hand is still part of the plant. Greg Chips as Mort Schaeffer, a burly and spiritual student in Milo's class. He is Bradley's best friend, but is friends with Milo and his band, and is the drummer in their band, Just Getting Started. Django Marsh as Chad Van Coff, Milo's classmate, who is convinced that Mr. Draco is a vampire. Alison Stoner as Lydia, Milo's classmate, Amanda's best friend. Michael Culross as Kyle Draco, a high school teacher with a slight Romanian accent. A recurring gag includes his displays of features resembling a vampire. Christian Slater as Elliot Decker, the school's security guard and self-styled Security King. He makes his mission to protect the city from Milo, which he constantly interferes with Milo and the gang. Mackenzie Phillips as Elizabeth Milder, principal of Jefferson County High School.
