Daily Thai News Summary: 14 June 2016 Daily Thai News Summary: 14 June 2016 1. Dutch Investors keen on Thai infra projects Source: The Nation (link) Dutch investors have shown interest in the Thai government’s infrastructure projects, foreseeing the Kingdom’s competency to be a central attraction of the Asean region, especially the Greater Mekong Subregion, according to Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn. After meeting yesterday with the Netherlands' newly appointed ambassador to Thailand, Karel Johannes Hartogh, Apiradi said Dutch enterprises had told the ambassador they were interested in investing in Thailand and participating in its infrastructure projects. "Dutch enterprises have foreseen Thailand as a centre of Asean and a link to countries in the Greater Mekong[Subregion] and Asean. Besides investing in infrastructure-development projects, they are also interested in the manufacturing sectors and service businesses, using Thailand as a springboard to Asean markets," she said. Thailand and the Netherlands have also agreed to collaborate in technology and innovation and in the agricultural sector, particularly water management, in which that country has high expertise. 2. EXIM Bank “to be a team player in broadening global trade, investment” Source: The Nation (Link) The Export Import Bank of Thailand wants to be a team player in Thailand’s effort to expand trade and investment worldwide, said its new president, Pisit Serewiwattana. "With few branches, we are unable to compete with commercial banks, so we should set a clear policy on delivering total solutions that will not compete with them. We will combine credit facilities with trade and investment insurance to target SMEs," he said. -

Leicester City Beat Chelsea to Claim 'Historic' First FA
Established 1961 15 Sports Monday, May 17, 2021 Leicester City beat Chelsea to claim ‘historic’ first FA Cup LONDON: Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers hailed the “historical achievement” of his side in beating Chelsea 1-0 on Saturday to lift the FA Cup for the first time in the club’s 137-year history. Youri Tielemans’s sensational winner was witnessed by 22,000 fans at Wembley. The largest crowd for a sports event in England since the coronavirus pan- demic hit 14 months ago were treated to a goal wor- thy to win any trophy as the Belgian midfielder blast- ed into the top corner on 63 minutes. Five years after the Foxes stunned the Premier League’s giants to become champions, Leicester have now claimed English football’s other prestigious trophy at the fifth time of asking. Four times they had previously lost the final, but the last of those was 52 years ago. “It’s a historical day for the football club,” said Rodgers. “Winning the FA Cup for the first time. I’m so happy for the players and supporters. They’ve lost four finals and now a fifth time we’ve managed to do it for them.” A historic week for Rodgers’s men could get even better as they are on the verge of sealing a place in next season’s Champions League. The sides meet again in three days’ time at Stamford Bridge in a pivotal clash to decide who secures a top-four finish in the Premier League. And Rodgers suggested his side were the neu- trals favorites as they aim to upset the applecart of the Premier League’s ‘big six’ once more. -

Each approach is applied to two problems: regression and classifi- cation. The last four seasons of English Premier League is collected and analyzed. Each approach and problem is tested several times with different hyperparameters in order to find the best performance. -

Premier League, 2018–2019
Premier League, 2018–2019 “The Premier League is one of the most difficult in the world. There's five, six, or seven clubs that can be the champions. Only one can win, and all the others are disappointed and live in the middle of disaster.” —Jurgen Klopp Hello Delegates! My name is Matthew McDermut and I will be directing the Premier League during WUMUNS 2018. I grew up in Tenafly, New Jersey, a town not far from New York City. I am currently in my junior year at Washington University, where I am studying psychology within the pre-med track. This is my third year involved in Model UN at college and my first time directing. Ever since I was a kid I have been a huge soccer fan; I’ve often dreamed of coaching a real Premier League team someday. I cannot wait to see how this committee plays out. In this committee, each of you will be taking the helm of an English Football team at the beginning of the 2018-2019 season. Your mission is simple: climb to the top of the world’s most prestigious football league, managing cutthroat competition on and off the pitch, all while debating pressing topics that face the Premier League today. Some of the main issues you will be discussing are player and fan safety, competition with the world’s other top leagues, new rules and regulations, and many more. If you have any questions regarding how the committee will run or how to prepare feel free to email me at [email protected]. -
