PRO SHOP SERVICES The Tennis Shop at Hillendale has gear and accessories avail- able for purchase. We have clothing for men, women and ju- niors. If you forget something at home, don’t worry! The Ten- nis Shop has everything you need to play, including racquets, shoes, socks, hats, visors, etc. We also provide a full range of racquet services, including same day service on regripping and restringing. It also features a beautiful deck that looks out over the courts; this is the perfect spot to enjoy a cocktail and watch friends and family play tennis!

2017 Tennis Handbook 12 www.hillendalecc.com Tennis Rules & Regulations COURT RESPONSIBILITIES • Court reservations are ONLY taken on Holiday weekends otherwise they are first come, first serve • Reservation times must be obtained from the Tennis Pro Shop, either in person or by telephone • Court reservations are limited to one hour of playing time on week- ends and holidays. A limit of an hour and a half would apply for week- days. (More time may be obtained, providing availability of courts at the assigned time). • A player may sign up to play twice per day, provided court time is available. • The names of all persons playing must be given at the time the court is reserved, or the Pro may schedule playing time for those interested persons who do not have partners. • A court reservation will be held for 15 minutes only. Non-scheduled players must register and sign a waiting list at the Tennis Pro Shop to be entitled to the court. • All players participating in a court time must register at the Tennis Pro Shop prior to play. • The same rules apply for reserving the lighted courts. These courts will be available until 11:00 p.m. The lights will be turned off from the Clubhouse. • Doubles play has the preference over singles on weekends. • Ladder and tournament play is not counted against your quota of playing time each day. • Working adults and working teenagers (16 years old as of January 1) have court preference after 4:00 p.m. on weekdays. Non-working adults and children cannot reserve courts after 4:00 p.m. on week- days, unless court time is available. • League and Tournament play takes precedent over all random play

All members are responsible for registering their guests. This rule ap- plies year-round and covers day and evening play. Evening play with a guest, after 5:00 p.m., must be signed up with the Tennis Shop before 5:00 p.m. Should this not be possible, the guest play should be reported to the Tennis Shop on the following day. Guest Fees are as follows: Adults (over 16 years of age) $15 per day per guest on weekends & holidays $10 per day per guest on weekdays Juniors (16 years and under) $5 per day per guest on weekends, weekdays & holidays DRESS CODE Only apparel manufactured specifically for tennis play may be worn on the courts. It should be similar in quality and style to that in the Tennis Shop. Only tennis shoes approved by Hillendale Country Club’s Tennis Pro may be worn. The wearing of appropriate tennis attire on the courts, both by adults and junior players, is required to comply with Hillendale Country Club’s rec- ommended dress requirements for all sport facilities. Shirts with sleeves are required for Men. Flat sole tennis shoes and shirts are required at all times for all players.

2017 Tennis Handbook 14 www.hillendalecc.com Tennis Rules & Regulations RULES & REGULATION OF PLAY • No food is permitted on the courts (this applies to adults and children). Water and other thirst quenchers are permitted, but only in non-breakable containers (no glass). • • No outside food or beverages are allowed on the premises. • Never walk onto a court when match is in play. • When crossing a court, do so as rapidly as possible. • No improper language or gestures are to be used. • When food or drinks are available around the court area, please dispose of the containers in the trash receptacles provided. Help keep your Club clean! • Used towels should be returned to the Tennis Shop after use. • All tournament matches should follow the rules of the USTA. Defaults will be enforced for the finals.

Ball machine usage is on a first come, first serve basis, and is subject to court availability. There is a fee of $15/hour to use the machine, and the professional staff is happy to help set it up during pro shop hours.
