OUR OPPORTUNITY Michigan’s K-12 public schools, which once led the country, have steadily fallen in state-by-state comparisons. You know why. The DeVos family has used their billions to control much of our state’s education policy. We can change that. Our colleges and universities continue to struggle with state funding reductions, with the state legislature continually treating some better than others. We can change that. This is our opportunity. Our opportunity to elect candidates who will reinvest in education and bring about much needed changes. AFT Michigan endorses these statewide candidates because they will fight with us to bring the changes we need. We endorse these ballot proposals because they will result in greater voter access and much fairer elections. United States Senate: Debbie Stabenow Governor/Lt. Governor: Gretchen Whitmer/Garlin Gilchrist Attorney General: Dana Nessel Secretary of State: Jocelyn Benson State Board of Education: Judy Pritchett and Tiany Tilley MSU Board of Trustees: Brianna Scott and Kelly Tebay WSU Board of Governors: Bryan Barnhill and Anil Kumar UM Board of Regents: Jordan Acker and Paul Brown Supreme Court: Sam Bagenstos and Megan Cavanagh Proposal 2-Voters Not Politicians: Yes Proposal 3-Promote the Vote: Yes Remember to vote your entire ballot - the partisan and non-partisan sections. “Straight Party” voting will not be an option this year. Join AFT Michigan & MEA at our #RedForEd Saturday walks for Gretchen Whitmer and other pro-public education candidates at AFTMICHIGAN.ORG/ELECTION18.
