Registration Fee

The registration fee is payable for every semester of study; however, returning students only pay CHF 2,500 for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The registration fee includes: registration documents, residence permit, airport pickup for new students, compulsory health and accident insurance during the academic semester, tie or scarf for Certificate to Higher Diploma, kitchen uniforms for Culinary Arts, kitchen shoes (for Diploma and Culinary Arts), federal taxes, wireless internet connection, student card, social assistance from the student counsellor, extensive online and on-campus library resources, gym and other campus recreational facilities. Additionally, life-long membership of the IMI Alumni network. There is no registration or tuition fee payable to IMI during the internship semesters.

Step 2: Provisional Letter of Acceptance If your application is successful and the requested course is still available, you will be sent the Provisional Letter of Acceptance (PLOA). On receipt of this letter, the registration fee of CHF 2,800 should be paid immediately. If, for any reason, the registration fee payment cannot be made immediately please contact the Registrar. If the registration fee is not paid on time, the course place will no longer be guaranteed.

Step 3: Letter of Acceptance The Letter of Acceptance is issued and sent together with general information about IMI upon receipt of the full payment of the registration fee. The LOA is necessary to apply for the visa.

30 Enrolment Procedures

The first instalment of your school fee (minimum 50% of tuition, accommodation and meals) must reach IMI’s bank account at least eight weeks before course commencement. IMI is generally fully booked and cannot guarantee the course place and/or the chosen room category if the payment of the first instalment is not received on time. Please make sure that the bank indicates your student number, family name(s) and first name(s) on the payment advice slip for the bank transaction.

The registration fee is payable on receipt of the Provisional Letter of Acceptance (PLOA).

The school fee (tuition, accommodation and meals) is payable eight weeks before the course starts, especially for countries requiring visas, and may be paid in full or in instalments. The first instalment must be at least 50% of the school fee and must reach IMI’s bank account eight weeks before the course starts. Two weeks after course commencement, a yearly interest rate of 10% is charged on the balance of fees. All dues must reach IMI’s account, at the latest, eight weeks after the course has begun. Bank charges are the responsibility of the student/fee payer.

Visa

Students will require a study visa for their chosen academic programme at IMI. The visa process can take up to eight weeks and IMI will assist students throughout this process. Please contact the Registrar with any questions.

Cancellations

Deferment: An accepted student may defer his/her place for up to one semester and his/her registration fee will be held as confirmation of his/her place (unless the permit application has already been submitted). Should the student withdraw later, there will be no refund of the registration fee.

Cancellation: Over 60 days prior to course start date: 50% of registration fee and full tuition, room and food charges will be refunded. 60-30 days prior to course start date: Full tuition, room and food charges will be refunded. Under 30 days prior to course start date: 50% of tuition fee and full room and food charges refunded. The notice of cancellation must be sent in writing to the school, by registered mail.

Withdrawal: If a student withdraws for any reason during the semester, no refund of any fee (registration, tuition, room or food charges) will be made. The same applies to students who are dismissed for academic/disciplinary reasons from the school.

Visa refusal: Students whose visa applications are rejected will receive a full refund of the registration fee and school fees (tuition, accommodation and meals) paid minus a CHF 500 administration charge.

Arrival in Switzerland

Students enrolled on their first year of studies are welcomed at Zurich airport and driven to IMI free of charge. Check-in at IMI must be done on the weekend before programme/course commencement. IMI International Management Institute Switzerland reserves the right to alter fees, dates and curriculum without prior notice.
