Deze Tour zou oorspronkelijk van start gaan op zaterdag 27 juni, maar vanwege de coronacrisis werd deze rittenkoers uitgesteld en begint hij pas op 29 augustus. En welke Nederlanders en Belgen maken van de Tour de France een hoofddoel in het seizoen ? Parcours Tour de France Hoe ziet het rittenschema van de Tour er globaal uit? De openingsrit van de Tour wordt verreden in de omgeving van Nice. Die eerste rit is een relatief vlakke etappe. Reeds in de tweede etappe moeten de renners behoorlijk veel klimmen. In de rest van deze Ronde van Frankrijk moet ook opvallend veel worden geklommen. Er zit slechts één tijdrit in het parcours. Dat is een klimtijdrit op de voorlaatste dag van deze Tour. Sprinters op de startlijst Wie zijn de belangrijkste sprinters in de Tour ? In staan weer veel mondiale topsprinters op de startlijst van de Tour de France, waaronder Ewan, Viviani en Sagan. De grote favoriet voor de zege in het puntenklassement groene trui is wederom wereldkampioen Peter Sagan. De Nederlandse sprinter Dylan Groenewegen staat in niet op de startlijst van de Tour. Enerzijds hoopt men dat het de attractiviteit van de koers vergroot, doordat kleinere ploegen minder goed de wedstrijd kunnen controleren. Anderzijds hoopt men ook dat men het aantal valpartijen kan verminderen door met een minder groot peloton van start te gaan. Deelnemers: startlijst met rugnummers Laatste wijzigingen in selecties Hoe zien de selecties van de deelnemende teams eruit voor de Tour de France ? In de weken voorafgaand aan deze Ronde van Frankrijk presenteerden de ploegen één voor één hun selecties. Jumbo-Visma was de eerste ploeg die zijn officiële selectie presenteerde. Later moest helaas de selectie van Jumbo-Visma toch nog op één plek worden aangepast: Steven Kruijswijk kan vanwege blessureleed niet start en werd vervangen door Amund Grondhal Jansen. Ook in diverse andere selecties zijn kort voor deze koers nog wijzingen doorgevoerd. Vanwege een knieblessure kan hij niet van start gaan; hij wordt vervangen door Cavagna. In de selecte van Arkea-Samsic zat oorspronkelijk Maxime Bouet. Hij kan vanwege een scheurtje in een spier echter niet van start gaan. Bouet wordt vervangen door ex-beloftenwereldkampioen Kevin Ledanois. Welke deelnemers dragen welke rugnummers? Welke wielrenners dragen tijdens deze Ronde van Frankrijk welke rugnummers?
