download bootble version of snow leopard Question: Q: Boot Camp and Snow Leopard 10.6.8. So is there or is there not official Boot Camp Windows 8 Support drivers for Snow Leopard. From what I can see they have them now for other OS X's, but not Snow Leopard. Does that mean I have to upgrade my OSX to get Windows 8 support? MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Boot Camp v 3.0.4, Intel Core i7. Posted on Mar 23, 2013 6:54 AM. In the case of the Windows 8 support, it's special, because Boot Camp drivers for Windows 8 (Boot Camp 5) are available from the Apple Support website > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1638 Look at the right part of that site to see that your Mac is compatible. If your Mac isn't compatible, don't download them, and you won't be able to make Windows 8 run properly. If your Mac is supported, just download the drivers from there and follow the steps on that site to burn them into a USB drive. Then, just open "Boot Camp Assistant" app and follow the steps to install Windows as usual. After installing Windows 8, install the Boot Camp drivers you have downloaded. Question: Q: Bootcamp on Mac OS Sierra - Macbook A1342. I'm running Mac Os Sierra on my mid 2010 Macbook A1342. According to Apple my Macbook doesn't support Windows 10, but Mac Os Sierra lets you install only Windows 10. I have replaced the DVD drive in my computer with a second hard drive, when I open Bootcamp it asks me to connect a DVD drive, is there an any way i can install Windows off a USB Flash Drive? I've made a bootable Windows 7 USB but Bootcamp doesn't detect it, I've encountered many errors trying to make a USB of Windows 10 and my Bootcamp doesn't support making a USB Windows drive by itself. I tried to find solutions for this but all I got was old articles. Some people change the properties of Bootcamp app but in Os Sierra I can't edit it and I read that I would have to stop the System Integrity Protection and that it's very dangerous, would it even work since my Macbook doesn't support Windows 10 ? Question: Q: boot camp not working in big sur. EFI Boot on the internal disk is Windows. It is a naming issue on Big Sur. Once you boot into Windows, click on the Diamond icon, switch to macOS and then use System Preferences -> Startup Disks to switch to Windows. Posted on Nov 17, 2020 6:06 AM. All replies. When trying to access boot camp/windows I only see Mac OS or EFI Boot. I never had EFI boot before and I do not know what that is. EFI boot choice will not start Windows but rather it restarts the iMac. Mac Finder does show the Bootcamp partition and all files in it. Nov 16, 2020 2:02 PM. If you hold Alt/Option and reboot, do you see a selection for Windows? If yes, try to select Windows. Nov 16, 2020 2:11 PM. I hold the Option key down during boot but I do not see Bootcamp - Windows as an option. I started to continue to hold down the Option key after selecting EFI Boot and Windows eventually starts. It is definitely not working the same as before Big Sur was installed, but it is working. Something is not right. Nov 16, 2020 6:18 PM. I have this issue also but the selection of EFI Boot, after holding Option key, does make Windows boot up after a couple of goes (but unreliable). When I looked up EFI Boot, it is supposed to represent the Time Machine backup drive (which I don't have). I have found another way to restart to Windows - using the Startup Disk option to get from MacOS to Windows. To get back from Windows just click on Bootcamp icon in system tray and select restart to MacOS. A work around for now. Nov 17, 2020 1:38 AM. I have this issue also and I deleted the bootcamp partition. After that I found that it is impossible to install windows again. The problem is that when the windows installation should start from usb after the bootcamp wizard finishes creating the partition the mac restarts and boot, but fails and restarts once again in BigSur. I also tried to press option key when the installer should boot but after manually choosing Windows install it tells me that there is nothing bootable. I reinstalled OS Catalina from scratch and using the same windows installer usb I managed to install a windows on bootcamp. Now the booting is normal in both mac and windows. But if I choose to press option key after chime it shows me EFI BOOT not Windows or Bootcamp, given it starts without problems. Now I will try to make another update to BigSur and see if the problem persists. I'll be back with the results. Need a bootable OS X installer iso [duplicate] I removed the OS X partition off my HDD and installed Ubuntu. Now I want OS X back but I can't install it considering I have no access to Mac OS X. I need either an OS X Snow Leopard or OS X Lion .iso so I can put it on an installer USB. 3 Answers 3. Since OS X Lion was around $30 USD on release you definitely, definitely wouldn't want to torrent the .iso. I would image you could find the torrent fairly easily if you were to look. But you wouldn't do that, would you, because that would be immoral and possibly illegal in your area. Apple still sells Snow Leopard 10.6.3 install disks for $20 US, shipping included. That's probably your least annoying, least dodgy/insecure recourse for getting Mac OS back onto your Mac. Even if you decide you don't want to use OS X ever again, it's a good idea to keep a small Mac OS partition on the hard drive - for one thing, the Mac system settings app is the only way to change certain hardware settings such as "resume after power failure." It's pretty straightforward to shrink the partition down to around 10 gb, which isn't too much space to sacrifice for the safety net it provides..
