World Changers Returning to Sugar Hill

The City of Sugar Hill and Sugar Hill Housing Authority, are negotiating to again sponsor the World Changers youth mission “hands-on” work experience in Sugar Hill. With their sponsorship 160 young adults will come to Sugar Hill (July 25-30th), to paint, reroof, build handicap ramps and provide other minor fix up to assist needy resident families and home owners in Sugar Hill. In 2010, 35 applied for help with their homes. The World Changers Construction Coordinator selected ten homes for work. Four were roofing replacements, there were two handicap ramps constructed, rotted siding was replaced, new decks were built and several homes were painted. Last year the Housing Authority contributed $25,000 to the project. The money was used to purchase the building materials such as roofing shingles, lumber and paint. If you know of Sugar Hill citizens that need help, we will be taking applications from residents that need assistance to maintain their home, or may need some minor repairs. Please contact Don Kelemen through the Sugar Hill web site or call 770-945-6716.
