So many people were so instrumental in the success. It’s hard to say “THANK YOU” so that volunteers recognize the sincerity of our gratefulness. Fran & Mike Patterson and Jeff & Dee Dee Locantore chair this parish event with patience and wit. All of the hard work and long hours result in the great time we had last week. Thank you to each and every parishioner who volunteered for the many jobs, in the booths, in the kitchens, in the beer garden, in the banking room, and thanks to all the people (mainly maintenance) who kept up with the mounds of trash and the restroom cleaning. Thanks to those who came in the daytime and prepare ingredients for the kitchens and thanks to those who cleaned the kitchens and beer garden during the day. Thanks to the 50/50 sellers, and the ride ticket sellers (before & during the event). Thanks to the advertisers and to those who solicited the advertisers. Thank you to the soda and water donors. So many people make this the wonderful event it is for our parish and for the community. Thank you to our Pastor and our maintenance crew who put in several long, HOT hours setting up for the Festival. Thanks to these advertisers who have supported our parish:

The American Red Cross representative wrote to thank us for the success- ful Blood Drive we had on Friday, June 9. We had 18 productive units collected that went out to help 54 hospital patients! Thank you for YOUR gift of life. TWELFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Monsignor Joseph W. Pokusa, our Senior Priest, will be retiring July 1.

Originally from North Jersey, Monsignor was ordained for the Diocese of Camden on May 23, 1970 at Holy Savior Church in Westmont. He earned his Doctorate in Canon Law at Catholic University in 1978. He became a Papal Chamberlain in 1983 and a Prelate of Honor in 1984. Monsignor has served in many capacities in our diocese and beyond. He was Chan- cellor of the Diocese of Camden, and Episcopal Vicar for Canonical Affairs. He worked for ten years on the staff of the Apostolic Nunciature in Washington, DC.

But, we all know that Monsignor’s strongest asset is his devotion to his flock. He has served in several parishes and been pastor of three, including St Gregory Parish, Christ the King Parish, and of course, St Teresa Parish from 1991 to 1999. His example of humility and kindness, his prayerfulness, his wisdom and compassion are qualities many of us have ex- perienced and we are better people for the experiences.

Although he has worked with , nuncios, bishops and many, many of the Church hierarchy, we still know and love him as our dear Monsignor Pokusa, and we wish him a very happy and healthy retirement. (God willing!)

Monsignor will continue in residence here and we will see him celebrate Mass regularly.

The Men’s Club will be hosting a coffee and donuts reception for Monsignor after the 9 am and 11 am Masses on July 16. Everyone is welcome.

Deacon George Liss retires June 30. Deacon George was ordained at on March 15, 1997 by Bishop McHugh. He came to St Teresa Parish in August of 2010 right before our merger with St Maria Goretti. In November of that year Deacon George was reassigned to Holy Child Parish. Deacon divides himself between the Office of the Diaconate and Holy Child Parish. We can attest to Deacon George’s well-prepared and thought provoking homilies each month. Deacon George has always served our parish well and we wish him a long, happy healthy retirement. God bless you Deacon George, Thank You!

Congratulations!
