AIAA hosted a Patent Law Workshop in Orlando on 5 January. The workshop, led by Rich Jaworski, a patent law attorney with Cooper & Dunham, was designed to provide insight into patent and copyright Featured Products requirements, as well as the process for obtaining patents and copyrights. It included an explanation of Hot Off the Press the differences between patents, copyrights, and trademarks, and a discussion of recent changes in the law. Members Tour Kennedy Space Center ● The Engines of Pratt & Whitney: A Technical History Jack Connors This book describes the evolution from piston engines to gas turbines by the engineers who created those engines. Included are hundreds of archival photographs, as well as over a dozen tables listing specifications and applications.

The AIAA Commercial Space Group and AIAA Corporate Members enjoyed a VIP tour of Kennedy Space Center facilities as well as personal briefings by KSC experts on Thursday, 7 January, during the AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting in Orlando, FL. Following breakfast, hosted by Space Florida at Quick Takes the Space Life Science Laboratories, the group toured the Atlas Spaceflight Operations Center and the Deadline Quickly Atlas Vertical Integration Facility. All were interested in Launch Complex 40 where Scott Henderson Approaching for AIAA briefed the group on the SPACEX activities and upcoming launch. Fortunately, the space shuttle had Board of Directors, Young just rolled out to the pad, allowing for some great fan shots. Next, all were delighted with the close Professional Liaison personal tour of the Orbiter Processing Facility, the day before it was to be closed for the astronaut Deadline for submission of applications crew for their flight training. This exceptional visit was capped off with lunch at the Operations Support Building II and included informative remarks by Deputy Center Director Janet Petro.
