Currently we have received $177,456 in payment for the conference with $5,679 outstanding. We did, unfortunately, get an unexpected charge of $2800 from the hotel for rooms. They had “forgotten” to put it on the original invoice. I am reviewing it now with Kim Lyons of Conference Direct who has assisted us with hotel questions. WELCOME Welcome to Kerry Weinstein of the Fort Lee Public Library. She is our newest executive board member being elected to a one year term as member- at-large to the position vacated by Jen when she was elected vice-president/president-elect.

HOTLINE From July 11 to Aug. 12 there were 44 new jobs posted to the hotline. This is up from 32 last month. ADVOCACY ACTIVITIES John Wallace has been arranging legislative visits with congressional offices while they are home on summer break. These have been very successful. So far we have met with the following offices: Congresswoman , Congressmen , , and Senator . We have meetings scheduled in Aug. with Congressmen William Pascrell, , Donald Norcorss and Congresswoman and Senator Robert Menendez.

As you are all aware, we did meet with Senate President Steve Sweeney. We also had a legislative visit with Assemblyman Gary Schear and a visit with Asm. Rooney is scheduled for Aug. 29.

I met with Civil Service and Judah Hamer participated by phone. They said since the former Vineland director had left before the layoff notices finalized she officially “vacated” her position and the library could hire a director at any time.
