Viper 640 Championship The Viper 640 Gulf Coast Championship returned to Fairhope, Ala., for the second year in a row on September 30-October 1, running in conjunction with Fairhope Yacht Club’s 70th annual Wadewitz Regatta. Seventeen teams from across Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi were greeted with warm temperatures and a light northwesterly breeze on Saturday. Three races were sailed with three different teams taking race wins. Ollinger/Northrop on Team Trigger Warning won the first race, while Max Albert’s team from Pontchartrain YC won the second race and Karl Kleinschrodt and Team Buccaneer YC took the last race of the day.
