22-25 JANUARY 2021 Race Manual | GRAVEL AND TAR | LA’ FEMME | UCI 1.2 2020

WELCOME MESSAGE GRAVEL & TAR CLASSIC

Welcome to friendly and the Manawatu!

A very warm welcome to the riders, support teams and race officials to our piece of cycling paradise.

Our region has pulled together to make this exciting event happen, despite many such events being cancelled in New Zealand and around the world. It is therefore a privilege to host the La Femme race event, as the very first women’s cycling race on the international calendar for 2021. We are incredibly fortunate to be able to do so, thanks to the awesome commitment and hard work from the Gravel’n’Tar organisers, sponsors and volunteers.

This scenic race route starts in the heart of Feilding’s town centre, in Manchester Square under our Millennium Clock Tower. This provides an opportunity for our locals and visitors alike, to enjoy our ‘friendly Feilding’ hospitality and hopefully take some time out to enjoy what our vibrant, attractive town and region has to offer.

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable cycling experience.

Yours sincerely

Helen Worboys Mayor, JP
