COVID 19 This sale is being conducted as a live on -site auction (no internet bidding) in accordance with strict social distancing rules and guidance from DEFRA in accordance with Covid-19 Regulations. 1. The sale is a business event and not a social gathering. 2. Only one person is allowed into the sale ring and pennage area with each buyers number. There is a charge of £10 per number refundable on the purchase of one pony. 3. No children under 16 years of age to attend the Sale. 4. Attendees are to conduct themselves appropriately and to follow the current Government guidelines regarding social distancing and sanitisation. 5. Masks MUST be worn in the sales ring and pennage area. Anyone not adhering to the above regulations will be asked to leave the sale site by the Auctioneers. We will not tolerate ANY rudeness to Staff or Stewards.

PLEASE READ THESE CONDITIONS AND NOTES CAREFULLY

CONDITIONS OF SALE

1. The highest approved bidder shall be the purchaser, the vendor or his Agent reserving the right to bid, and if any dispute arises with respect to the bidding the lot shall be put up to the last undisputed bidding and no bid shall be retracted.

2. The lots are believed to be correctly described, but not guaranteed to be so and no compensation, if claimed, shall be allowed on account of any error, should such exist, in stating the quantity, quality or otherwise of the respective lots.

3. Each lot shall be the purchaser’s risk at the fall of the hammer and delivery shall be taken by the Purchaser with all faults and errors of description.

4. No warranty whatsoever is given concerning any lot.

5. Payment for each lot shall be made to the Auctioneers at the close of the sale, in cash or debit card unless alternative arrangements have previously been made with the Auctioneers. Credit cards will not be accepted. No credit will be given.

6. No transferring of lots will be allowed after the fall of the hammer.

7. In addition to the hammer price, the Purchaser shall pay a buyer's premium of 12% (including VAT) of the hammer price.

8. All purchasers, including those known to the Auctioneers, must register their names and addresses prior to purchasing and obtain a buyers number at a price of £10 which will be returned on the purchase of one pony by the registered buyer to facilitate issuing of Statutory Documentation.

9. Lots being the property of VAT Registered Vendors will be subject to an additional charge at the VAT standard rate (20%). These lots are marked ***VAT*** in the catalogue if the Vendors are known to be VAT registered.

10. All ponies will be sold in Guineas.

11. No animal shall be sold for a hammer price of less than 10gns.

12. No lots are allowed off the market premises unless they have a passport or have been micro chipped and issued with a temporary Identification documents which is valid until passport is issued or 30 days after the sale.

13. No statutory Documentation will be issued to Buyers without payment of the purchase price in full together with the Buyers Premium of 12% inclusive of VAT (and VAT if appropriate).

14. All ponies must be transported from the premises in such transport and at such loading density as complies with current legislation.

15. No animals admitted to the sale yard unless appearing in this catalogue and if any appear unfit they will not be accepted.

16. Ponies must arrive at the Market with either a full passport or if a paid up member of the DHPA a Pet Equine ID application form. These will be identified by the Auctioneer at the time of the sale. It will be the buyer’s responsibility to transfer the passport to his own name within 30 days of the sale. Ponies micro-chipped at the sale will have their passports sent direct to the buyer.

17. The passport or a temporary identification documents will be available after the close of sale (There will be some delay in obtaining these Please be Patient).

18. All ponies without a passport that are sold will be micro chipped. The cost of Pet ID micro- chips and passport is £30 each. These costs must be paid for by the buyer in cash direct to the Dartmoor Hill Pony Association Office before a pony can be loaded to leave the sale.

19. In a case of any dispute as to any of these conditions or in any other case of dispute the auctioneers decision is final and binding.

20. Vendors commission of 6% including VAT per lot (minimum commission of £6 inc VAT per lot).

2) Any prospective purchaser unknown to the Auctioneers and wishing to pay by cheque must make the following arrangements no later than Tuesday 6th October 2020.

a) Inform your Bank manager you wish to pay by cheque. Tell them the likely amount you intend to spend and instruct your bank manager to inform us by Fax 01647 433669 or email [email protected] that it is in order to accept your cheque.

b) Arrange with your bank manager for the issue of a guaranteed cheque to be brought with you.
