Development & Peace (D & P)

*NEW* Amazonia: New Paths for the Church and for an Integral Ecology Development and Peace’s campaign for the next two years is called For Our Common Home, inspired by the papal encyclical ‘Laudato Si’ – On care for our common home. The first year of the Campaign will be dedicated to the Amazon, recognizing that a future for the Amazon is a future for all. This is a timely campaign as Pope Francis convened a Special Synod for the Pan-Amazonian Region from October 6-27, 2019 called Amazonia: New Paths for the Church and for an Integral Ecology. This campaign gives us all an opportunity to better understand the Amazon biome and how it is vital to the balance of the Earth, our common home. It is also a time to walk alongside Indigenous and local communities in the Amazon, to learn about their needs and challenges and to support them in their quest for a dignified life. Stewardship

*NEW* November 24, 2019 - Feast of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe

“….giving thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to share in the inheritance of the holy ones in light.” (Colossians 1:12)

God wants us to be happy! Instead of looking at the Ten Commandments as being restrictive and telling us what we can’t do, look at them as guides for living a joy-filled and peaceful life. Most of our problems arise when we put our own needs first or spend most of our time trying to acquire “things.” Instead, try putting God first in all things. Ask Him how He wants you to use your gifts.
