2 18th All India Mathematics-Science Fair Concludes In Kanpur

The 18th All India Mathematic- Science Fair was held in Kanpur from 30th November to 4th December. A total of 822 students, from all the 11 zones, participated in this annual event. These students were from three groups – a) Bal Varg for students of class 6 to 8; b) Kishore Varg for students of class 9 and 10, and c) Tarun Varg for students of class 11 and 12. There were 298 models of Mathematics and Science, prepared by the students, on display in the fair. Competitions in 29 categories were held in each of the three groups among the students coming from all

3 the 11 zones. Prizes were given in all groups. The competitions were held in different categories : Science Models, Science Paper Reading, Experiments, Quiz, and Paper Presentation by Teachers. Similarly for mathematics the different categories were : Vedic Ganit Quiz, Vedic Ganit P a p e r Presentation, Mathematics Exhibition, Vedic Ganit Models and Veg Paper Presentation by Teachers. Three students of Class VIII of Brahmadevi Saraswati Balika Senior Secondary School, Hapur, have been selected by Sports Authority of India under the ‘Khelo India Search Talent’ to be admitted in the Kendriya Vidyalaya. The three are Jayanti Tyagi, Tania Chaudhary and Palak Tyagi. They will be now studying in the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Gwalior and all their expenses up to class 12, including that of their stay in hostel, food and shooting exercises etc. will be borne by the Sports Authority of India.
