BEST OF THE WORLD, BEST OF AUSTRALIA Over 40 games of elite polocrosse on display in Warwick

It’s not only the world’s best that will converge on Warwick, Queensland during the 2019 Adina Polocrosse World Cup – the best in Australia will also be in the spotlight at the Barastoc Interstate Series, which is part of the seven-day event program.

The Barastoc Interstate Series will see state teams from Queensland, NSW and Victoria battle it out across five divisions in an effort to take home the title of Best in Australia. All Barastoc games are made up of six by six minute chukkas (periods of play), with the Men’s, Women’s, U21 Men’s (Intermediate), Junior Girls and Junior Boys playing a round robin format with a final. The U21 Women’s (Intermediate) will play three games. The first Barastoc matches commence on Tuesday 23 April, with the finals held over the weekend of 27-28 April.

Victoria won many individual awards at the 2018 Australian Nationals in Perth.

Taking place from 22-28 April 2019, the 2019 Adina Polocrosse World Cup is the biggest international event on the polocrosse calendar and will be the largest international sporting event ever to be held in rural Australia. It will attract 60,000 spectators, over 2,000 international visitors, and 300 players from eight countries, all battling it out for the ’s top honour. Polocrosse is one of only three home-grown Australian , along with Aussie Rules and , and celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2019.
